    Are You Published?:
    Yes, Self-Published
I work as a marketing consultant / copywriter by day and a self-published author of vampire fiction at night, with four paperback books in the Hollywood Vampires series to my credit thus far, and a fifth on the way.

And about 30 short stories / novellas. I'm a busy little beaver.

I write hilarious, hard-rocking, hard-hitting, and surprisingly human vampire fiction... I can't write gothic prose or teen romance to save my butt, so I haven't been able to find a publisher interested in what I do. At least not without the qualifier, "Well, if you write something like Twilight, we'll totally give it a look!"

Nope. I've got a day job... I write what I write because I love it and because I believe in it. And apparently others do, too. I've got a small worldwide following, and have readers in places like New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Canada, and even South Africa. Not too shabby for a goofy kid from central Illinois.

It's fun for me, it's fun for them, and to heck with what anybody else says.

I also love to "talk shop" with other writers and help out aspiring ones -- it's a real joy to help somebody get through their blocks and watch them finally create the story they've always wanted to! Just because I'm not on the New York Times bestseller list doesn't mean I can't be a writer who makes a difference to people.

Writing (obviously), reading, heavy music, vampires, robots, science fiction... nerd stuff!

    Signature

I've known I wanted to be a writer since I was 8, mostly because my first two choices of what to do with my life didn't pan out.
My first two choices were either being a dinosaur or George "The Animal" Steele.
    So writer it was!
