I write as a hobby and tend to stick to short stories. The current story I am working on was supposed to be short, but has turned into a monster for me. Fifty pages plus and I still am only one third of the way through. But I firmly believe you have to let the story go where it wants to, so I am working my way through it until the end.
I cannot write poems to save my life, so I really admire all the poets that can say so much with so little words. Other than that, I have a career I love and a family I couldn't live without.
