I have been writing since I was in high school, mostly romantic fiction. Then when I reached adulthood, I decided to try a writing style that was more serious. I switched my focus to sci-fi and paranormal fiction as well as crime/suspense based work. I also wrote poetry in college, but once I started a family, I found less and less time to write. However, my job allows me to write each and every day. It is technical based and anecdotal writing for the purposes of my job, which is detailed below.
I have a bachelor of arts in social sciences with a minor in psychology from Shawnee State University. I also have a master of arts in forensic psychology from the University of North Dakota. I have been an investigator for child welfare for 6 years. In this time, I became certified in forensic interviewing and specialized my field of study in graduate school toward child sexual abuse. I have written on this subject area in graduate school and plan on publishing those works on this website.
As a child welfare worker and as a graduate in forensic psychology I testify in court on matters of family law and the impact of abuse/neglect. Part of my job is to keep families together and provide services to them, however, when this is not possible then I place the children in safer environment until the parents can complete services to reunify with the children.
I consider myself seasoned in my job and have trained others in the art of interviewing and conducting sound investigations.
Creatively speaking, I enjoy writing fiction still, however, I often encounter writer's block and am unable to put conclusions to much of my work. This is a problem I'm hoping to overcome by becoming a member here. My hope is to complete many of my unfinished fictional writing and publish.
Writing (of course)Interact
