Charles Hancock was born in 1985 in Newport News, VA. His father, Melvin Ray Hancock (deceased) was Monacan/Tuscarora and his mother, Alisa Jane Bryan 'Cahoon' (deceased) was Scots-Irish. He began drawing at the age of two years. His Grandmother recalls, "He drew a picture of a clown at two years old." He spent his early childhood copying pictures of his favorite superheros from the comics.
His parents divorced when he was 9. This horrible circumstance fueled Charles' creative outlets. He says, "I often put the emotions of my everyday life into the art I am making at the time." Possibly brought about by his parents falling out, his art took a very macabre turn. His drawings turned from superheros, dinosaurs, pirates, and clowns. To tortured souls and violent scenes.
As he hit puberty his art, now somewhat diverse, began featuring 'curvy' women. Also at this point in his life he began to pursue music studies. He joined his high school choir and did quite well. His love of music and personal history opened up Charles to new creations. Using what he was naturally drawn too (no pun intended) he began mixing genres.
Always one for the taboo, Charles' art can be very tongue and cheek at times. Politics, Music, women, sex, zombies, monsters,Activism, marijuana, skateboarding and Native America are often his subject matter. Yet he still saves room in his repertoire for superheros, dinosaurs, pirates, and clowns.
In high school he began writing after the reception he recieved from a peice he did for an English class. Since then he has written for independent news as a journalist. He has written fan fiction from the science fiction and horror genres.
Charles is currently working on 3 novels, 2 scripts, a book of poetry and writing a Native American hip-hop album as well as drawing and painting. He currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina .

Music, movies, art, activism, steam punk, and women.
