I can't seem to enjoy music any more. Even songs I hate don't get a reaction from me, it's all just noise. ...Pretty shit
And I have all of them saved in my phone. Seriously though, they, combined with calls, did make being apart a little less unbearable way back when you hadn't moved in with me yet. Now they serve as nice surprises that brighten up the day.
I read in an English medicine article that psychologists declared, listening to music much, is caused depression. They have tested this on some group of youth.
I've always read the opposite. It depends on the type of music of course, but classical music is supposed to activate normally dormant brain cells that help with learning and intelligence. Heavy metal music helps with energy, as shown in a test with plants that were subjugated to listening to heavy metal grew faster than others. Lastly another type of music helped with increasing happiness, and another had a calming effect. I'd be interested in seeing that tid bit of information you are talking about.
So I was suppose to have some teeth pulled/cut out last week and ended up rescheduling because of a kick in the ass sinus infection. Then today I was supposed to go and my ride never showed. Now I'm rescheduled for NEXT week. Will this ever end? Is someone telling me I should continue to suffer? Is this purgatory? Who put the voodoo on me? On a positive note my bloodwork came back ok, it wasn't green. I'm not an alien.
I didn't find the same article but these are similar to. The most of such article is found in the health webs. Teens who listen to music a lot are at high risk of depression Violent music lyrics increase aggressive thoughts and feelings Music and Violence – The Heavy Metal/Suicide - Queendom Country Music and Suicide – The Frontal Cortex
The first link has a very small sample size of only 106 adolescents, and points out that they always listen to music. Anyone will tell you, anything not taken in moderation can be bad for you. The second link is the same as the first one. The third link says in the article that the music is not the cause of suicide: The last link is extremely vague and even the author isn't confident in the findings:
An association does not mean caused. This can also be interpreted as depressed people listen to more music than read book. This is a duplicate link to the same story. This is the one link to an actual source besides a news report. I know some of the people from Science Blogs and they generally know their stuff. Unfortunately the author makes no comment about the study and the link from 2007 to the original research is a dead link. But the first comment in the blog says something useful: No offense @Mans, but this is a good example of people looking for headlines that fit their confirmation bias without looking at what the original research actually says or what conclusions are actually supported.
I can't write because I'm constantly distracted by the thought of needing to feel a woman's touch, and I basically spend all day watching porn or looking for a quickie. God this is frustrating.
I said in my first post : Yes listening to some musics in moderate is not bad but If it changed into addiction, the extreme listening to music can be harmful. But essentially, some type of musics that excite the emotion of people intensely and abnormally, are harmful too. For example Metal and Pop. I myself sometimes like to listen to music, but not the music that people yell or scream along with, and no music that when some youths listen to in the dancing beat themselves, cry and ripped off their cloths unselfconsciously. Such musics make them mad and insane or hurt their nerve system, brain and heart while the psychic damages is greater, specially when they use drug and alcohol. Some of the insane persons in asylums are such musicians.
I noted it, I don't agree with it. The claim that [fill in the blank] affects behavior is often repeated by people who don't like a particular social change. History includes many examples from pulp fiction comics to Elvis' gyrating hips, the Beatles' long hair, and Judas Priest convincing kids to commit suicide. I'm not really interested in this debate and it doesn't belong in this thread anyway. Anyone interested can search out the actual research themselves. I merely caution people to look for original research, look that other variables were controlled for, and be careful you aren't looking at a source that wants to confirm a particular bias.
I don't know how serious you're being, but I find it all to common that I can't sit down and concentrate without sneaking in a game of five finger pocket pool. I think for some, the chemical imbalance is a lot stronger than in most.
No thank you. Do you know that I am 14? Agreed. In the 20's, the Charleston was seen as immoral by many parents.
You know of music that makes people rip their clothes off? Please send me the names of some of these songs.
