I apologize you. I thought it was a mistake in English and I didn't know it was your habit to write so [IMG]:) Yes I agree we leave this thread but I hope you have not been bothered of my inexperience in this discussion.

Poor Mans. He comes to an English writing forum with an open mind and open heart, asks a member here, without any malicious intent, a question regarding her poor English, and that person gets all snappy. It's not your fault, Mans!

Alright! I've got orientation at Walmart in the AM, 8:30-4:30, so I was told. First day of work. Can't stress enough how thankful I am. It's been a long time comin'.

Today I'm happy that my mother enjoyed her day today, as today is her birthday. She's 63.

I'm happy that my local town transfer station was open today, because I had some garbage that was starting to smell that I was able to get rid of.

Went hiking recently. I was prepared to go solo but made a friend on my way there. Had a great time encouraging each other to keep going on the trek. Sometimes, things just fall in place. :)

I have started to learn how to code, and I am definitely excited about it. I've done some HTML and CSS from Codecademy. Could anyone answer whether Python and Javascript coding knowledge would also be good marketable skills? Should I also try for C++ or SQL or Java, or would HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript be fine? Basically, I would appreciate any advice as to which languages are worth learning.

The more you learn, the broader your perspective. That applies to computer languages as much as to any other field.

The problem is that it takes a good deal of time to learn each language well enough to understand its strengths and weaknesses, and the language landscape is perpetually changing.

It also depends on what you are trying to do. I know all the languages you mention, other than Python, quite well. Day to day, I use Java and SQL the most, but in other jobs I've had to focus more on C++, or JavaScript, or C#, or even PL/I.

You never, ever stop learning when you work with software. Absorbing new languages and methodologies takes a significant part of your professional life. And that's half the fun!

A study has been published about what it would take to colonize a planet in another star system and it corroborates the scenario I chose to write in my story.

Want to Colonize an Alien Planet? Send 40,000 People

The researcher also notes it will take many years of travel including the ship itself would need to be part of the colonization, with kids born in route.

I calculated multiple ships large enough to carry ~5,000 passengers each on a 40 year interstellar trip.

    Thanks for the reply.

Right now, I'm just trying to build a base knowledge that might be somewhat marketable as a secondary skill. I read that for basic "front-end/client-side programming," HTML, CSS, and Javascript (maybe with some design skill) can be useful, so I'll probably start there.

Either way, it's a whole new thing for me. I've enjoyed it so far, and I'm hoping it can continue to be!

Right now I'm happy that we still have a fair amount of time before the summer ends and colder weather starts to kick in here in Maine, United States.

I've lots of things to feel happy about today:

Had a nice long chat with my bro. We didn't grow up together and there's 15 yrs age difference between us, so in many respects we are abject strangers to each other... except we're not. We are so remarkably similar, (no doubt the result of nature and nurture) that it's nearly enough to give me head spins just thinking about it.

I got 9 hrs sleep last night, which considering the previous 78 hrs, in which I only managed 5hrs total, has replenished the old batteries.

Even better... I awoke without a migraine...

...and with a really clear concept for a painting, which I'm gonna try out later.

Now the mania has started to die down, my recall of vocabulary will return and I'll be able to hammer out a bit more of my WIP.

So, yeah... great start to my day. :agreed:

Don't use usual milk and cheese ( the milk of cow and sheep). They impress on your migraine because of some enzymes that they have. Drink goat milk, it is ineffective on migraine because of lacking those enzymes.
