I just received some good news in the mail. I was thinking of doing a JD/PhD, so over the summer, I applied to a few schools as a transfer student. Imagine my surprise when I found out I got accepted into Harvard Law! My program starts in January.
That's special, @thirdwind. GW got a business degree at Harvard, not a law degree. It was Obama that went to Harvard Law School. And regardless of your politics, Obama is one smart dude.
Harvard Law School is a big deal (congrats Thirdwind), but, regardless of your politics, Obama is nothing special in terms of intelligence.
Moved into student halls today. I ain't studying law at Harvard though (Congrats dude) Rather the opposite in fact, music performance, total waster. Who needs a reliable career anyway?
@HelloThere As a fellow music performance major, I'm sure you understand, or will soon, what a special thing a delicious sandwich really is. Also, @thirdwind, if you're coming to Harvard Law we're gonna be neighbors. I'll be the guy who looks really out of place here.
Thanks. I'm still not sure what my PhD topic will be on. I plan on talking to a few professors to get a better idea of which topic I want to pursue.
@thirdwind That's awesome, congrats! The selection must be pretty brutal to such a prestigious place!
Just nutted out the holes in my plot, and decided on POV's and subplots. All before breakfast, banana crepe with lime juice and whipped cream.
I got a female calico kitten today because I thought my older female needed a friend. So far my older cat hasn't been to receptive of the kitten. I hope that changes over a short period of time. I really thought she would be more motherly of it because it is just weened.
I've been having a tussle with our homeowner association here. They've been bitching that the paint job on my house isn't up to community standards. I had the house repainted in June and they still complained. They gave me until Sept. 5 to bring it up to scratch. I found an excellent contractor and he painted it (and replaced our side gate!) for a reasonable fee, and did a great job. I dare the neighbors to complain now! (Actually, I don't. Some of them are assholes and they WILL complain, even if there's nothing to complain about.) This kind of thing actually pisses me off because the original paint job wasn't bad, and this cost me a LOT of money.
It's really a bitch that people get so hung up on such vanities. Pretty petty of them to suggest that someone else should take on such a burden to adjust to some preconceived notion of how a house's pain ought look. Glad it looks good, though. Hopefully the paint itself will feel visually refreshing, in a way.
