Full Name: Allison Jeanne Connor, though at the age of 18 she took on her own name Alésia. Most commonly she just goes by AJ.

Age: 29 (30 by the end of the narrative)

    Height: 6' 2"

Body: Slender build, often described as too skinny for her own good. She's not anorexic or anything, but she does have a tendency to not have an appetite when offered food. She has a long, deep scar above the right breast from a GSW to the chest and another scar in her side from the chest tube associated with said GSW. There is a tattoo of her military unit's insignia on her left ankle.

Face: She's of Scotch/Irish decent and is fair skinned with faint freckles and well defined features. Her mouth is full lipped and often curved into a slight smirk. She has slightly upturned emerald green eyes that some men have described as "exotic." She has varying length, copper colored hair which when we first meet her is a short #1 buzz cut, then starts growing out as the story progresses. There are three silver hoops in her left ear and two jeweled studs in the right. (Or just look to my avatar [IMG])

Clothing: Usually blue jeans and black motorcycle boots, a white tank top or T-shirt, and a brown suede jacket. Sometimes she wears button-down shirts depending on weather, and she is seen once in a slinky black dress and heels on a special occasion. She also wears a straw cowboy hat from time to time and is almost always seen with a pair of cheap sunglasses in the daytime. Overall, her apperance reflects her "tomboy" attitude, never wearing makeup or styling her hair except for dates. The most important part of her clothing is an ankle bracelet her father gave her when she was a teenager (which is extremely special to her), however, this is never seen except the few times she is without her standard jeans.

'Cael's a shadow of his former self; you couldn't call him built now, he's a whelp. At 5'11 and narrow-shouldered he may not look like a fighter, but like a leopard with its spots his face tells you otherwise' - Ministry of Defence reports

Somewhat skinnier and leaner than your typical 'surfer dude,' Cael has an athletic appearance and deceptively prominent muscles, though much of his former bulk is now gone since his discharge from the Paras. His skin has taken on a greyish appearance due to a cordite addiction, and he sports well-defined cheekbones and an irregular yet angular jawline. Blue eyes sit deep within withered chasms, gauged out by many sleepless nights, often in succession, and, unlike the 'thousand yard stare' of many war veterans, his gaze is sharp and intense, though he has difficulty maintaining eye contact with people he isn't familiar with. His black hair is short and unkempt, and though he is more often than not clean-shaven he sports stubble from time to time. Cael is an exceptionally casual dresser, though he shies away from hoodies, preferring T-shirts, jeans, and leather jackets. Occasionally he wears tank tops, and one item of jewelry: a silver ring on his ring finger, inscribed with the name 'Fiona.'

    I have two protagonists.

Peter Lewis is thin and tall with messy black hair. He's Asian (from the mythical country-kingdom of Calcifar) and his eyes are blue. His nose has been broken so it's sort of long and bumpy, and he has a scar on his cheek. His skin is pale, as he doesn't spend much time outside, and he usually wears a simple brown tunic with something else of lavender.

Eden Moriah is shorter, heavier, and tanner than Peter. Her hair is very curly and blond, and she has numerous freckles across her face. Her eyes are wide and green, and her nose is short and upturned. She likes to wear red clothing.

I have two main characters, though the second is the main character for a much larger part of the novel than the first:

Thomas Yonderman: male, rich, straight, white, polite, lawful, kind, quite tan, quite tall, quite skinny yet muscly, short expertly styled blond hair, bright blue eyes, handsome, cool, popular, typically wearing lots of (cheery (leather) brown and blue clothes, funny, social, very smart, active with lots of initiative, always willing to help others

Daniel Yonderman, later Daniel Thomas Rupert Yonderman: male, rich, straight, white, polite, lawful, kind, quite tan, quite tall, quite skinny yet muscly, short and quite messy jet black hair, dark brown eyes, handsome, slightly socially awkward, outsider, quite moody and lonely, very appreciative of others, typically dressed mostly in black, reactive, incredibly intelligent and gifted

Thomas is 18 at the beginning of the story, and dies only a few days later. Daniel is 15 at the start and dies in his early fifties towards the very end of the story. He stayed remarkably similar to his younger self physically until his death, but his personality changed quite a lot with age, due to factors such as the loss of his brother, his powerful love for his girlfriend, his two amazing children and all his experiences in life.

    They're brothers, BTW.

I'm writing a children's fantasy and one of my characters is called, Adrian Scarlotti . When I'm writing him I always think: Adrian Scarlotti oozed rebellion in every stride from his lack lustred hair to his graffiti ridden boots.

    Mikkish Callanhad:
6 feet tall, 180 pounds and lean with a six pack. Light blonde hair that meets the nape of his neck and intense green eyes. Scar on his right cheek. Base tan. He walks tall and confidently, and has a mischievous but handsome smile.

Avery (or whatever her name ends up being): A scraggly looking girl who despite growing taller through the novel retains her unkempt appearance. Dark blue eyes peer out from a ragged mop of ash brown hair. Her patched clothes hang loosely about her frame hinting at the slight build of someone who could use a few square meals. Although the style and wear on her clothes varies she constantly carries a locket at first on a gold chain around her neck and later on a leather thong. At times she has concealed the necklace within pockets sew into the inside of her clothes or tied it around her upper arm, where it could sit hidden beneath her sleeve. If someone manages to force her into anything impractical or fancy it will send her slouching until she finds a way of 'fixing' the clothes, if her free will came into the decision at all she would be found in something comfortable and practical that blends into the background rather than standing out.

I never noticed this prompt before.

Edgar - loping walk, bending stance, wanting eyes, a boy-man beauty. Peter Pan in eternal puberty. The kinda fellow that men whistle at. The kinda fellow who looks around to see what they're whistling at.

Dexter - edgy stare, dark hair & dark eyes. Gypsy touches like high cheekbones and a slim build that make him a target of prejudice. But he oozes a loose confidence.

September - a face like an anthropomorphic peach. Lip curling smile, long sassy-blonde hair, buttercup eyes. She doesn't walk she skips.

Charlie - the villain - a hard teasing smile. Hands that fake kindness, but adore - in their tense readiness - killing.

Protagonist - 33, slim, pale and blonde. A bit 'utilitarian' looking with her worn out Prada combat boots (a gift from an ex lover) and black waterproof parka. People underestimate her, especially her physical strength.

Love interest - 42, male, pale skin, dark hair and eyes, three day stubble, leather jacket. He looks a bit like an adventurer who's come home for a few weeks.

Antagonist 1. - 58, man, bleached smile, polka dot bow tie and a grey sharkskin suit. He's very tall and exudes gravitas.

Antagonist 2. - 42, female, mutton dressed as lamb/wanna be rock chick, honey blonde hair, slight lisp.

Antagonist 3. - 29, male, piercing, blue eyes, killer body adorned by loads of cigarette burn scars, tattooed pentagrams and the like.

Villain - 37, female, very thin, mousy brown hair, sensible leather shoes and hipster glasses. She looks like a friendly librarian, but of course, it's all just a disguise ;)

My MC is like that ;)

The things that the drawing don't show: he's 6 feet tall, white hair, and a pale purple skin (yes, that's it), light green-yellowish eyes, and he's half dark elf / half high elf. Name? Rus.

The other chars include some humans, elves, and two "alien" species. My avatar if one of them: the queen of dark elves. My book is a cross between fantasy and sci-fi :D

(Before someone ask: yes, the drawing is mine. I can draw too :) )

And now a couple other characters from other works:

John Aleistar: 5'11 and 200 pounds muscular with eight pack. Buzzed black hair. Bright blue eyes. Calm demeanor. Scar on his chest from a gunshot wound.

Pete: 6'3 and 230 pounds muscular, no abs though. Olive skin tone. Black, curly hair. Brown eyes. Usually happy, and very confident.

My MC had two distinct looks that are slightly similar.

Her first look is long black hair, about to her waist. She is thin, but has some muscle tone. She hides her smile from people, past experience teaching her that people are cruel. She covers up her body, hiding any and all skin not on her face. Just looking at her, you can tell that she has been the victim of emotional beatings.

Her second look is after she leaves her childhood home. Over time, she gets more confident. She wears girlie clothes that don't cover all of her body. She has gained a lot of muscle tone. Her hair is cut short, and she smiles any chance she gets. Looking at her, you wouldn't be able to tell that she's been through so much. She is confident in her body and her personality. She finally loves herself.

A short and generous woman in her early twenties, with shoulder length, curly hair. Bright hazel eyes flecked with green and thick glasses. Freckles playing across her peach skin. Curvaceous build.
She's the main character in my most recent story that I'm working on, a slightly ambitious and mildly (yet deliciously) controversial story about the monsters in our world, all the while exploring the cultures of our planet.

Kinda missing the point, though. This is a writing prompt. An often asked question is how to inject character description into a story. This thread is a good place to try out these techniques, not only how to introduce description seamlessly into the story, but how much detail to include.

Isake Dresden normally is around 6ft1/6ft2 with waist length blond dreads and dark blue eyes, he's quite a well built bloke, being muscular rather than flabby from where he spends so long training in different martial arts and using various weapons from bows to quarterstaves and swords. he is also a faceless man which means his genetic make up changes slightly to either brown hair/brown eyes and a slightly smaller frame and a mouse-like face to someone with bright yellow eyes and black hair that is somewhere in between build wise and a slightly elfish appearance.

Kilnir Ironshield on the other hand is 5ft1 (dwarves are between 4ft6 and 5ft3 in my novels, with humans and elves being anywhere between 5ft8 and 7ft) with shoulder length dark brown dreads and brown/hazel eyes, and a beard... like my human MC, he is quite muscular.

*Edit, i forgot to add a couple of people*

Then we have King Caspiar Seolran, tall and slim, of a similar height to my human main character, long black hair, started off being all sass but then realised a lot of stuff after coming into coming into contact with Isake and Kilnir. he also has grey eyes. Caspiar starts of just keeping his hair loose flowing, but realises the need for decent armour, thus following Isake and Kilnir into having dreads.

*Note* in my novels, the dwarves have different ways of identifying between clans, and it so happens that the clan that Kilnir heads up uses dreaded hair to identify themselves, the reason for Isake and Caspiar having dreads is that they use the dwarfen master smith, and his designs always include the dreaded hair.

    Linck the Dire wolf
A Dire Wolf is pretty self explanitory, being one of only three mentioned in the novels (the first being his mother, and another a pup called Seroph) grey furred and blue eyed, he has a bit of a clumsy nature, but indeed he is loyal to Isake and follows him everywhere.

My main protag in project #1 is about 5' 8", 160 lbs., very lean, but not skinny. Square, with the kind of chest that is tight and solid, but not pronounced, a stomach that is equally rock solid, but not pretty-boy ripped. His is a body made of heavy labour and deprivation. He's olive skinned with very short black bristly straight hair. Tense jaw. Nondescript nose. His eyes with unusually large brown irises give away his inner self. The smaller-version-of-Riddick exterior is a costume. He's very intelligent, sensitive and empathic (not in the sci-fi sense, just the normal sense). Manu Bennett fills the bill quite nicely.

My secondary protag and love interest in project #1 is taller, about 5' 11", and more Hellenic in the generosity of line and amplitude of muscle. His is a body molded by fashion. In this world, if you have the money, you can pick whatever kind of beautiful you want to be and change your mind later if you can afford it. Alabaster skin without a single flaw. I almost wrote him without nipples and with no navel, but when it came to the sex scenes it creeped me out as much as it did my main protag, so I ditched that bit. His hair is honeyed silk and his eyes are made of the sky. He looks like a Greek god, but he's introverted and clumsy.

the main character of my current project, as zie most often appears in the story, is about 6 feet tall, with burnished crimson skin, iridescent red hair, and sky-blue eyes, with no whites. zie appears, as one might guess, androgynously, and indeed at the time of the story does not have a particular gender. zie is lanky, built for speed, dexterity, and a long reach, rather than brute strength; however, zie is still stronger than most humans. zir face is long and thin, with a jaw that protrudes slightly, giving the impression of a very short muzzle. zir nose is long and straight. zie is most frequently seen in ceremonial armor of an indeterminate silvery metal under a plan grey tabard, wearing an open-faced helmet with a ridgelike crest down the middle, and seemingly unarmed, though zir copper-colored fingernails each come to a subtle and quite sharp point. this body was carefully designed to be obviously "alien," but not too shockingly strange or awkward to operate in a human-based society.

heh--my protag has no nipples or navel, @Wreybies , but there's a definite reason for that--part physiological, part psychological. it didn't creep out my protag's partner during sex, but the sex happened after the partner saw the protag's "real" form, which... explains a lot. ;)

Terry is male, black, tall, small eyed and bald. Melanie is female, white, not short but compered to Terry she is small, big eyes and glossy (hopefully I use that word correctly) hair.
I have been reading in hope to catch new English words and phrases in order to fluently get that information to my story.

I'll give you three of my current protagonists (first one is from a different novel than the others)
Selnex: a dragon, first of all. He stands roughly around 5'10" tall. He is a blue a white dragon. His eyes are blue, so are his horns, his abdomen up to his chest down to his tail has blue, and the membranes of his wings are also blue in color. The rest of him is a snowy white color. He's skinny to the point his friends in the story worry about him being overly skinny (xylaphone ribs! :D). He's 25 years old. Wears either a fake leather jacket (does not believe in killing animals except in self-defence), jeans, and a "Neon Lights" T-shirt.
Far'krar- He's a human first of all. He's roughly the same size as Selnex (he's roughly 5'11"). He is white skinned with dark black hair. He wears leather body armor until he gets some really awesome armor from Anubis. He is a king by the way, but you can't tell. He looks like any other normal man his age.
Anubis- one of my repeating characters. He's in a lot of my writing. Just to be clear, the Anubis in my stories is NOT the one I worship (yes, I worship the old Egyptian gods, excluding Osiris and Horus who don't exist in my beliefs). He is a character and doesn't entirely reflect my beliefs on the actual god himself.
Otherwise he is a six foot tall jackal-like god. He is fully jackal, not half-human like he is depicted in much of the artwork he is in (and that actually is a personal belief that they depicted Anubis as half-human so that people could say they were somewhat like a god). He has jet black fur from head to toe. He has regular jackal-like feet but has normal hands just like a human. He has deep purple eyes. Prefers to use a golden and blue double-bladed scythe that detaches into two hand axes when rotated and pulled apart in a particular manner.

Both Far'krar and Anubis are the main characters of my novel "Far'krar" (pronounced Far-krawr) I'm currently focusing on.
Selnex is probably my favorite character to write for though. He's in my WIP novel "Life Under the Neon Lights". He's wonderful to write as because of how peculiar he is. He's a male dragon prostitute who has a major thing for neon lights (that was just for fun on my part actually, I don't think it'll really be big in the story though) and most certainly challenges peoples' mindset of how a male should act. He's flirtatious, he's flamboyant, likes to shop, etc. but he is entirely comfortable in his own skin and as a male. He's enough of a departure from what I normally do to be really fun to write for. He's actually supposed to be a commentary on the wrongs of gender roles and the rules against prostitution really.
Wow, definately added more info about the characters in general. But then again, talking about characters isn't bad per se.

Nick's pale face, often sitting under a messy bowl-cut and over a dark hoodie, is round. His body shape doesn't match his face; he's akin to a bleached candy apple. Invisible weights are tied to his shoulders, he walks on a bit of a slant, and no one knows the colour of his iris'. Oh but when he smiles, everything comes tandem: the white enamel, the cracked cheeks, the taught skin around his eyes. He hasn't tried, but it would likely infect even a dead man.

Unfortunately, Nick making sandwiches, or thinking about making sandwiches, is currently the only cause for these smiles.

    List of various MC's:

Batos (Last of the Imirri): Male Shifter. Around 6"2" and built like a fighter, with a large chest and thick arms. His face is fairly angular, but strong in the jaw, and his ice blue eyes are always judging others for their strengths and weaknesses. He is kind of a cocky bastard, believing he is the strongest in the land, and up to a certain extent, he is. His hair is straight and black, reaching down to his shoulders, and he has a widow's peak. Three scars cross one shoulder, and another "X" shaped scar is on the opposite hip. He does not often wear very many forms of clothing, not because that when he shape shifts his wolf form tears them, but because of his body temperature being so high he often has problems being too hot rather than too cold. In wolf form he stands five feet at the shoulder, with the same scar patterns, and is much more heavily built than an ordinary wolf, with large paws and a jaw structure more similar to those of dire wolves: meant for crushing bones. But besides these natural capabilities, his gaze can cause "The Panic" when a human meets eyes with him. The same goes for the other members of his kind.

    Anida (Curse of the Mercenary):
Female Human. Tainted by Naga venom. She is small for a ten year old, with a waifishly thin body, and wears a red cloak (little red riding hood anyone?). Half of her face is covered with green scales, as well as one arm and part of one leg. The scales spread as the venom spreads, slowly turning her into the enemy as well as killing her. Her hair is stark white, and one eye is gold with a thin slit for a pupil. The other eye is a plain brown human's. She's more terrified of herself than anyone else, and is being chased by the king's guard as well as the Serpentine (the Nagas) to be recruited as an assassin, but has escaped via help from her father, a mercenary who had left the village she grew up in only to return the very day of the accident, then flee with his daughter.

Ophelia "Lia" Gray- Female, 22, seer (basically human with oracle tendencies,) 5'10, average build with a little extra around the hips because she has a busy life but doesn't workout. Long wavy black hair, half-asian (not sure which specifically,) light blue eyes, olive skin, smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks, three tattoos, ears and nose pierced. She mostly wears sun dresses and light bohemian clothes, almost all sandals, little to no makeup, a couple simple silver rings and a necklace of small stones from the amazon her grandmother gave her when she was younger. She's generally a happy person, I always imagine her in sunlight with a wildflower crown on, very curious and loving to a fault. Think boho hippie and you've basically got Ophelia.
Kamoril- Male, time is different for mythics but I think about 300 though he looks about Lia's age, night elf (like regular elves but can only tolerate moonlight,) 6'3ish, dancer's or swimmers build because he runs everywhere and climbs a lot of trees. Hip-length silvery white hair, large honey brown upturned eyes, very pale gray skin, his skin is basically perfect, no piercings, no tattoos. He wears clothes he makes himself made out of crude leather, cotton, wool etc., no shoes to speak of, has a small blue crystal he wears around his neck that was a gift from a good friend who is basically his little sister. He also wears a hood and shows as little skin as possible most of the time because that's the style he likes.
