That Moment...

That Moment When... you realize that as you were writing, you wrote your main character under two different names: the name he has now, and the name he had when you first created him. I can almost hear him screaming, "For the love of God, stick to my real name!"

 

I just did a rewrite on a piece and changed a main character's name. I did one of the dreaded precompletion edits to make sure I got all of the occurances changed, including the singular possessive versions. Spell check isn't that smart.

That Moment You realise you, (well, me), need to shut up because no one really cares about this...

 

That moment when you report the 5th spam bot for the day, 15th for the week and 25th for the month...

 

that moment you realise you may end up going over the word count of the essay you are trying to write (and the limit is 1500 words)

TMW you get up stupid early to piss, expecting to go right back to sleep, but after hanging around here for a while, you realize you can't go back to sleep because it's 6:00 am and time to get up for real!

I'm going to have to take a nap later in the day.

 

TMW you realize the daytime block of Star Trek: TNG on BBC America is always the exact same set of episodes.

 

TMW you invite your colleagues to your favorite pub telling them that you are very frequent there, and when you arrive it turns out that the whole staff was changed one week before and you don't have "special rights" any more

 

TMW the baseball season is over and basketball season is starting, and suddenly ESPN Sportscenter will be focusing more on basketball, and I hate basketball!

Maybe I can finally get some writing done. I've been doing some erotica recently just to keep in practice (!), but November is almost here and I have to maybe NaNoWriMo.

That Moment When: You realise that some people are so dense, unleashing them upon the thinking factions ought to be a crime. So, I work retail, a bookstore. Today I was at CS and a customer approached the desk.

Me: Anything I can help you find?
C: Well, I think it's a book.
Me: Was it a hardcover or paperback?
C: All I know is it had a cover.
Me: Hard or soft, do you remember a colour?
C: No, it was on Fox News. Where is the Fox News section?
Me: We have a Current Affairs section, but no area designated just for Fox News.
C: None...
Me: No sir, would you like me to show you the Current Affairs seection.
C: No, Fox News section. To Hell with this place...

That Moment You Realise:...You had the whole weekend off, you fool, until you did your famous: Sure I can work.... Now I only have Sunday off before the surge into a six day run for changeover. This is the holiday setup in music and I'm the only one who knows what needs to be done. I'll have a couple minions, but nice though they are, they are still a little clueless. What the hell was I thinking? Answer is, I wasn't.
