She examined the gold quietly and closely. "...It's real alright, fine." She said, she took out how much she estimated his total purchase to be, which was around 3,500 dollars. The katana was just a normal steel katana with a black grip, the rapier was imbued with a wind enchantment, and the wazikashi an earth enchantment, both relatively weak, but it would give them some edge in a fight. "Have a fine day." She said, dropping the gold into the cash register.

I walked to a nearby cafe and just sat down at an empty table, a few students were around, enjoying a quick coffee and treat while they waited for Ms. Foster to be finished with her shopping. I cracked open the book and began to study in silence.

Tam and Noroi thanked the owner, and left.
    -----
"You know," a familiar voice said from behind Joe. "Turning down a gift from a fairy is very very rude."

"Don't care." I said, not looking up from my book. "I don't like owing people, and I don't like being a charity case for some guy that thinks that he knows me, we done? Because I'd rather not have my reading interrupted any further by useless comments and complaints." I said coldly.

The person hmphed, then sat directly across from Joe.
"I see you like to read," the person said. "How about a story? I think you'll find it interesting and very... Vivid."

"...Will you just leave me alone already?!" I asked angrily, I glared up at that girl from yesterday, Cindy. "God, you'd think a cold shoulder would get the point across 'I'm not interested in talking to anyone, leave me the fuck alone and live your own damn life!' But no, they can't just leave good enough alone and just keep pissing me off! Do yourself, and me, a god damn favor, and leave me alone, it's not much, is it?!" I shouted, turning the heads of a few students and passerby, I got up and briskly walked away as Ms. Foster walked out of the store with a large basket full of mandrake root. The other students were gathering around, the fifteen minutes were up.

Cindy gripped Joe's should and slammed him back into the chair, her face stone.
"Listen and listen good," she growled. "You have two people bending themselves backwards to help you, two people who just so happen to actually like you. Do you not see how he is acting? He literally sees your pain. No, look at me." Cindy forced Joe to look at her, her hand calloused despite how petite it looked. "I get you're uncomfortable, but ignoring Tam isn't gonna do jack shit except make things worse for you and him. Open up a little bit, because otherwise things are gonna get bad." Cindy smacked him with her fairy tale book and dropped it in his lap before walking off.

I glared at her as she walked away. "I don't care about him, I told him this before, it's not my problem if he can't take a damn hint, not even a hint, a god damn answer." I said, I got up, letting the book of fairy tales fall to the ground, I didn't care if she forgot her book. She just smacked me and I was pretty sure she threatened me. Screw whatever happened to her stupid little book, in fact, I hoped it got lost and it was important to her. I walked back to join up with the rest of the group, seething with anger.

After exiting the bookstore I walked over in front of the shop to wait for our teacher. Though I tried staying away from some of the other students who came by to wait as well. A few others I knew began coming back as well. Though one I wasn't too glad to see..... Joe came back and looked absolutely terrifying. He looked like he was ready to punch someone. I feel relief when Ms. Forester comes out and look towards her holding a large basket. "Um...Excuse me, but would you like some help carrying that back to the classroom?"

Erza left a few minutes after Tam and yawned making her way towards the cafe and taking a seat away from the crowd. She watched the whole scene with Joe and walked over to pick up the book. She read the cover and laughed,"Oh adorable." She then noticed the teacher come out and walked over. She laughed when the girl offered to help,"Is that mandrake root? Stuff's bloody nasty."

"Yes, and if you paid any attention you'd know that's the reason we even came here ya bimbo." I grumbled annoyed as I heard that girl from earlier ask about Mandrake root... some people just never paid any attention. I was ready to snap at just about anyone or anything. How dare those two keep trying to butt themselves into my life. Who are they to think that they can try to 'help' me, that girl didn't even know crap about me. People are just annoying and useless things... I wish they'd all just go away.

Lily smiled at Chrysalis. "Oh no, I'm fine, we've gotta get back now." She said, she cast a concerned glance over at Joe, noticing that he was clearly in a horrible mood and then her eyes settled on Erza and her face went red from embarrassment, she hadn't noticed the girl's provocative outfit. "Oh goodness... how could I have missed that... oh..." She muttered quietly. She led everyone away, back toward the school a few blocks away. She fell into step next to Erza. "Ms... Cormac, correct? I don't want to be rude, but... you can't be wearing that, it's against school policy... I won't write you up, but when we get back, please go to your room and get changed, I don't want you to get in trouble... and I know that at least two of your teachers are real grouches and one is a real stickler for the rules." she said.

Cindy noted that Ezra was holding her book, and groaned, debating if she should walk up to the other girl.
Tam and Noroi, meanwhile, had just joined the crowd, Tam holding packages for swords.
"I'll give this to you know who later," Tam muttered to Noroi. Noroi shrugged.
    "Whatever, dude, he's your boyfriend."
    "He is not my boyfriend."
"I'm gonna start a betting pool," Noroi said, ignoring Tam. "See how long before you two shack up. I'm betting two months."

Erza turned to Joe and stuck out her middle finger,"Pull the stick out your ass and screw off."
Douchebag. She followed into step behind the class when she turned to look at the teacher with a smile and listened quietly,"Sure..but I'm keeping the heels. Mom always said if you cant do something in a pair of stilletto's then you can't really call yourself a woman. I hope you guys don't have a fascist perspective on tattoo's."
She sighed, hating that everyone automatically assumed she was a slut because of what she wore. She almost always incinerated her clothes, so the less was usually the better. She pulled out her glasses and shoved them on, straightening her spine to ignore the judging fuckers. Other then that Tam character. Such a sweetie.
Suddenly she noticed Cindy and walked over,"Hey. That dickmunch dropped your book. I picked it up so you don't lose it."

"Thank you!" Cindy said, brightly. "And, by the way, I think your outfit is pretty cool. Though, I think my shoes beat yours in the unconventional department." Cindy laughed, and tapped her glass sneakers on the sidewalk. "I'm Cindy, nice meeting you!"

"Whatever, leave me alone and I'll leave you alone, I don't like you, you don't like me, perfect arrangement, some people don't get it." I said before she walked off, I ignored everyone for the rest of the way there, fuming quietly.

I shudder seeing the newcomer. She looked pretty menacing.....maybe even more than Joe at the moment. But, she seemed to be getting along with Cindy so could she be all that bad? I step over so I would be next to Cindy shyly. But I wouldn't engage in any conversation as I waited for everyone to start moving. I guessed we wouldn't have that much time anyways.

Erza smiled widely,"Omg! That is so badass! You have to be one hell of a fighter to battle in Cinderella shoes." She gave a hearty laugh and giving a small smile,"Also, Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot." She looked out over the group,"So where are you both from?" She looked at the other girl and gave a smile.

I couldn't help but frown hearing the girl's question. It would be rude not to answer her. But I really had no answer to give her. I hid behind Cindy a bit and put my hands behind my back. "That's....hard to answer. I'm not really from anywhere special." I say trying to at least give her some answer.

"France," Cindy said. "My ancestry is from there. This is Chrysalis, a really fun person! And of course you're from somewhere special! Everyone is! Every place is special because it holds a story, and every story is worth telling."

Erza shoved her hands in her pockets,"Sweet. This Frenchman Brox who had a glorious artillery collection by the way, says he loved the French countryside. It's on my bucket list." She turned to look at the small girl and waved, "Hiya, I'm Erza. Scottish highlander and axe-wielder extraordinaire. It's cool if you don't want to tell me. Home's wherever you make it."

I look down towards the ground. "I hate to say this but I disagree. Not every story is worth telling." I glance back up towards Erza. "It's nice to meet your acquaintance. Home is wherever you make it? I haven't heard that expression before. But it seems nice....Um, I don't mean to be rude by asking this but, do you think we could be friends? You seem pretty nice and all."

Erza gave a short, "Aweee...Of Course. You seem pretty great as well. I haven't had many friends before, so I would be honored to be known as your buddy! Welcome to the Cormac clan!" She laughed heartily again, happy to meeting such nice people so soon.

Edgar walked a foot behind Joe, his nose in a book of Poetry. He spoke softly after Joe spoke in a short clipped tone, "It is better not to respond at all if you wish for isolation. I know my suggestion is a bit hypocritical but the use of "no reaction" usually leads them to boredom and then ignorance." He sighed, flipping a page, "Of course it really isn't my business anyway."

He remained aloof, his black glasses slid slightly down his nose and his greyish-blonde hair slightly covered his face. He was dressed in the registered uniform, with a newly bought black and gold saber attached at his hip. He eyed the girls with scrutiny, deducting if any of them would be a good mate for the future. The beastial part of him edged at the back of his mind, also looking for a good means of releasing some rage. His eyes rested on the three girls off to the side. All three pretty. Small one seems shy and frail, probably not easy. The one with the glass shoes was again beautiful but flighty and would be possibly looking for commitment. Which leaves the redhead with the axes and the great ass. He felt a small growl move up his throat and a deep terror filled his mind. The beast was howling inside of him, scratching at the edges of his sanity. No that one was above all going to get herself killed if she came near him. He sighed continuing his reading and ignoring his urgings for the night. He rubbed his temples trying to contain himself.

I took the guy's advice and just ignored him, walking faster to get away from him, not wanting to deal with him any longer.

Soon, they reached the school, the students, minus Erza, returned to the classroom, Lily went to the front of the room and stood in front of the cauldron and clapped her hands together. "So, tomorrow, we'll create the salve, everyone please have a wonderful day!" She said smiling cheerfully as the bell in the clock tower rang loudly, signalling that the period was over.

I stashed my book in my messenger bag and turned to leave. "Just a little longer and this day'll be over soon... hopefully." I thought as I made my way to my next class, Magic 101.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

At the front of the classroom an old man sitting at the teacher's desk was sitting there... he had short white hair, and wrinkles, he was pale and looked like he hadn't smiled a day in his life, he wore black rimmed glasses, and a plain blue suit. He waited for students to get in and once the bell chimed once more to signal that class had started he shuffled over to the door and locked it, he didn't tolerate tardiness and didn't care if students missed his class, either show up on time or don't show up at all... that was his policy at least.

He walked back up to the front of the class. "I am Mr. Simmons, you will call me that, not Mr. S, not Simmons, not S Dog, or some other stupid nickname." He said. "Now, this is Magic 101, the very basics of magic, some may know of these, others will not. Now, you all better take notes, because I will not repeat myself." He said, he went on to give a long winded explanation of magic.

"Magic is a powerful force that is shaped by the user's will, free form magic, some magic requires rituals and incantations to incite, these tend to be much more powerful, however there are ways to counteract their effects if one is knowledgeable, there are some spells that many can do without any form of specialty, others take years upon years to master a single form of magic. Magic draws upon one's life force, if you use too much magic, then you can end up ending yourself in the process, it is a painful ordeal, however it is a fate that can be avoided, your life force can be replenished through eating, sleeping, or taking potions." He said.

"Furthermore, when dealing with elemental magic, it can have attributes that it represents. For instance light or water magic can have attributes that would be common in healing magic, so if you train enough you could potentially draw upon these attributes. Magic can also be enhanced through magical artifacts and weapons. However there is a drawback to using these, if you cannot control this magic then it can have catastrophic effects. It's the same with magic circles, you can amplify your magic with certain circles or concentrate it into one area, but if you mess it up then it will blow up in your face." He said.

"Some of you may think that anyone can learn magic, however this isn't so. Magic is passed down through one's bloodline, however over the years people have bred with mortals, so it's become diluted, meaning that some would receive this gift while others will not, it can even affect one's magical potency." He said. "Hm... I think that's about it... I think I'll end today with a simple spell, when fighting, sometimes you may not be able to compete with someone on a magical scale, you may have to resort to physical means." He said.

He pulled out a black and silver pen, it suddenly glowed brightly and turned into a black and silver cane, it glowed again and changed back into the pen. "It is a simple spell, merely hold the desired object and focus on the item you wish it to turn into, will it to happen, it's functional, and it's a good way to have your weapon on you at all times without drawing attention to yourself." He said, he gestured to the desks and daggers suddenly appeared on the tables in front of them. "Now, it's your turn." He said and then watched the class in silence.

Erza just made it into class before the door was locked. She had her skirt up a little too high, and her black heeled stilletto's on. She took a seat in the middle and took some simple notes on the long boring lecture. When he came to describing the spell she picked up the dagger and gripped it tightly willing it to turn into a popsicle. She grit her teeth focusing all her attention on the dagger but nothing happened.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edgar picked up his dagger with the sides of his fingertips and concentrated turning the small dagger into a metal bookmark. He shut his eyes and willed the dagger to change. Suddenly the dagger flickered red a few times before fading. This flickering happened for a few minutes before suddenly it was fully covered and a small plane metal bookmark was in his hands. He opened his eyes and gave a wide smile,"I did it.."

Walking into class I would pick a seat not too close to the teacher. Being close didn't seem ideal for how he was. I pull out a notebook and pen when he mentions taking notes. As he went on into his lecture I wrote done notes on what he said underlining parts I thought might be more important along the way. I hold in a sigh of relief as he finished his speech. I didn't want to risk him getting after me for disturbing the class. All of a sudden I looked down to see the dagger. He was wanting us....to turn this into something else? I wonder what I could turn mine into. I quickly go back and write down the instructions of the spell first in my journal. I wouldn't want to forget them.

Once that was done I look back towards the dagger. What to turn it into?.... I stop a moment to think and then hit a realization. It might be easier to focus if I have a visual. I take one of my butterfly hair clips out of my hair and place it on the desk in front of me. I then pick up the dagger and focus on turning it into a hair clip using my hair clip as a visual example. It took me a few minutes of concentrating to transform the dagger into a pin. It took me a few more minutes before realizing I had actually done it. I sit down the pin I had just transformed the dagger into next to my pin to compare. It was a bit duller compared to my real pin but it was a pin no less. I happily pull out my journal again to write more on what just happened.

I don't think I'm gonna like this guy, Tam thought, tapping a finger on his new rapier. Figuring that transfiguring his rapier would be too much strain for him at the moment, he borrowed one of Noroi's lock pick tools, and, after several moments of concentration, he managed to turn it into a pen.
Noroi, in the meantime, was using his full lock picking set, a much more complicated matter. After focusing, he managed to turn it into a lapel pin.
