Sums up a lot of things I've been thinking about lately. Particularly this bit:

Who wrote this? It's terribly written satire, sorry to say.

Cracked.com's sole purpose is to have poorly written articles. It's intentional.

This is a topic page, it's written by whatever user wants to make one. I'm not surprised to find that @123456789 doesn't like it, as it pokes fun of everyone like him.

Remember when Cracked used to be really good and interesting, would make your week with a new article?

    Yeah, I miss that.

Yeah, I remember when they used to entertain me with '10 things that will haunt your nightmares' or '20 things from history your boring school leaves out'. Sadly not anymore.

Now it's all 'The 10 rediculous things you wouldn't believe were not said to some guy'.

to be honest, there is a slight ring of truth about that. I'm not going to lie, but seeing some of the teens that go around today does make me wonder for what has happened in the 2-3 years I was out of education. I know I'm only marginally older than most teens these days, but somehow, even i feel alienated to what goes on on occasions as well...

^Wait until you are my age, 25. It's weird. I have a student who said he likes Slipnot and One Direction and I am still not sure that's even physically possible.

Cognitive dissonance. I think that's the technical term.

I think Cracked is still OK. This article was obviously written by a teen trying to make teens look good. But his sarcasm is terrible.

Teens today are actually pretty awesome. Serious, civil minded kids. Very respectful. Not so cruel. Ultra PC. Fairly mature. Also, very, very small :\ They're not growing like they used to. Too much junk food.

    Damn kids these days! :p

Being serious for a moment, I'm often very surprised at how mature teenagers can be. Interested, engaged - it's why I like teaching A-level, you get some seriously clever and interesting people to talk to and teach.

Studnets in my class are often more mature than the idiot teaching them. :p

    I'm 26, and I just pretend teens don't exist.

Sweet Jesus, I'm turning into one of those old croons you see on TV who hobble around cursing at everything around them. Help!!

Yes I've had to teach them too. 18, 19 year olds. I'm not joking. They're very mature, at least emotionally. They don't possess much charisma, though. I feel kind of like the latest generation is very tame. Kind of scary o_O

A lot of the time it's just a confidence thing. That's all. They are still kids in some ways, they are still not quite out of the high school mentality when I get them. I like to think I'm good at building their confidence, I'm always interested in hearing what they have to say.

I'm going to bed now, actually. It's coming up on 4 am and I don't really have much to do tomorrow morning, but company's coming in the late afternoon and I can't be too bleary!

helpful, most of the teens here are rude, pig-ignorant and arrogant, well not in Canterbury specifically but many of the teens that i come across.

To be fair, that's because the foremost part of their brain hadn't developed yet. That, coupled with the parenting can produce...interesting results.

It's different cultures. We have a very influential media force where I am from. This means, we can basically condition people however. Right now, kids are being conditioned to behave well and not be jerks. Then there's the added pressure of performing well, so you can "succeed." So yes, teenagers today are respectful and driven. But they're also all rather dorks. Except for the ones who skip school all the time, obviously. But that's not majority.

I think I have read maybe 2 copies of Cracked when I was in high school and it was a poor mans MAD magazine even then. However their is a small element of truth in the article.
