Made it home safely. It was snowing this morning, but not too badly. However, it seemed every pedestrian out and about was drunk 'cause there were way too many hit-and-pedal moments. Not that I'd keep on pedaling if I accidentally hit someone...

 

That moment when you find yourself solving a made-up math problem in your head out of boredom...years after you've completed your final math class in college.

 

TMW when you're just tucking into dinner and unexpected guests pull into the driveway.

 

TMW you assume "tucking into dinner" means eating supper.

 

TMW your reading glasses suddenly don't work because you've been walking around with them as though they were your regular glasses.

 

That moment when you have a nice relaxing cup of tea, and wonder when sundown is, so that you can break fast.

 

TMW you are on a 4 hour flight and every song on the ipod shuffle perfectly captures your mood. Can an airline experience be sublime?

 

TMW it's 11:16 at night and you finally got started writing.

 

This sort of thing happens to me regularly.

 

That moment when your daughter leaves to join ISIS... Okay, it's a joke. But Dakota Johnson was the perfect candidate for this SNL skit. I mean, come on, she had the balls to star in 50 Shades of Grey, didn't she?

 

TMW you think you're finally done procrastinating... and then writingforums.org comes back online.

 

TMW...Walking through the department store you realise some of the mannequins in the children's section are as tall as you are... That's just a little creepy.

 

I have a friend, a man who used to be my boss, who is only five foot four inches tall. There are some guys that short who have big builds, but he's not one of them. At the age of almost sixty, he still shops in the boys' department for his clothes, because that's what fits him. He's a brilliant man and an exceptional engineer, but he's small, and he fits in boys' clothes. I've never talked to him about how that makes him feel, but I feel for him when he's wandering around the boys' sections of department stores when he's bald as an egg on top ...

 

He'll probably age well. Look at Danny Devito!!

 

TMW when you keep getting 403'd and you're scared that you somehow pissed all the admins off into banning your various IP addresses.

That moment when all your devices are showing a "403 Forbidden" message for the Writing Forums website and you think something terrible has happened and you're in a panic about what.

Nah, there were just some technical issues with the site. Also, I believe that if you were to get instantly banned you would probably have to do something a little worse than just being a bit snarky.

 

Is this normal behavior over there?

That would be incredibly abnormal over here. Usually I need a two-day heads-up 'cause it takes at least 2 days to clean the apartment.

 

I can think of one occasion when this has happened to me (or my brother, rather). Without any warning whatsoever one of my brother's friends randomly showed up outside our door at noon one day. And he lived 15 km away at the time so it wasn't just a walk across the street...

 

No, this is not normal behavior. Social rules dictate that unannounced drop-bys are never around meal times. As for the clean-up... I'm at the Moca house, which is always fastidious. Were this to have been at the condo, subject to William's penchant for entropy, different story.
