Mikkish looked up when he heard Jinx' voice. He actually didn't notice the commotion David was causing, he was so caught up in his texting. It sure shows the path America is heading in. To a more technologically advanced age, with the drawback being that people become more and more antisocial. Already, kids are obtaining cell phones at younger and younger ages, and failing to develop social skills.

    Wait. Shit.

This isn't a research paper. This is UC. My bad

    Anyway

It was like a cartoon, Mikkish thought. That Jinx came around the corner right then at that moment. But what was more bizarre was the redhead guy who seemed to show up out of nowhere. Mikkish stood for a moment, looking at David, his mind trying to...catch up with his eyes. A moment of familiarity washed over him. His mind immediately shouted "DAVID!" but this wasn't David. David was dead. Who was this guy?

"Hey man. Who are you? Are you...related to David?" Mikkish finally asked, after pausing in disbelief.

    Wtf?
Mikkish thought. Even with magic and the like, this was unreal.

"Whats with the red hair? If you're David." Mikkish said suspiciously. None of them knew, as far as Mikkish understood, the extent of the Templar's abilities "David had blue..."

"David... I saw your head blown apart from your body, it was in pieces, there's no way you could have 'dodged' anything." I said, looking down, then an idea popped into my head. "...Are you indeed David Sinclair? The David Sinclair that we met on the boat when we came to the island? The David Sinclair that wielded the blade which contained Junior who took over your body and released himself?" I asked, if I saw chains, then that meant he was lying... if I didn't... then somehow, some way, David was alive.

“DAAAAAAVID SINCLERE!” He cried giving thumbs up to Joe. “And yep we came here on a nice big yacht like my parents own.” He gave a large grin. “Don’t know a Junior though or nothing like that, that’s a really retarded name to give to a sword.”

    He shook his head.

They must a been on drugs or something to forget all this stuff ……

"My saber's name is Tupac, you know that."

I look towards David taking a step back and placing my hands on my hips. "....It's David but not David. This is really confusing. He seems to know all of us and even events that happened with David but he has several differences. Heh seems like one of those tv shows with an alternate universe. Another David but red hair and a saber. What the hell is going on? I think I'm getting a headache..."

This... should have sounded insane to me... but... for some reason, it didn't. "I see..." I said putting my hand on my chin. "...Somehow this David is from another universe much like this one, the David of this world is indeed dead, but the David from this universe X somehow managed to come to ours, David, tell us what happened before you came here, up to the last moment you last saw 'us'." I said.

"Yo, Tupac." Mikkish said, raising his fist for a fist-bump and hovering it around the sword "Uh? Aww man, ya aint gonna leave me hangin are ya? Mad respect anyway dawg." Mikkish said, turning back to everyone else "Look, guys, this is David we're talkin to. He had all kinds of problems, who knows if long term memory loss isn one of em?" Mikkish turned to David, still finding it hard to believe this wasn't a dream "David, you're right. Junior is a retarded name for a sword. It's also a retarded demon thing we're hunting for. Five feet tall with three horns." Mikkish would forever have burned in his jealous memory, which third horn he was referring to "Wanna come with us to find a psychotic religious killer to help us get rid of Junior? Who knows, we might even be rewarded with pizza."

“Burning rule enchantment…” mumbled Hikaru while raising her hand over a thin wooden stick, a miniature arrow made to fit the miniature bow equipped on her hand.

“Flesh of falsehood to be condemned… Whispers of demons to be crisped” continued mumbling until the miniature arrow begun to bright with a red spark.

“I’VE BEEN SURROUNDED BY A BUNCH OF IMBECILES ALL THIS TIME!!!” Exclaimed the girl as she aimed her arm toward David. In a span of second, splitting through the air the burning red arrow pierced David’s body.

The girl revealed herself in an unexpected fashion as she was already used to do it, so the surprise was minimal but still effective for a stealth attack.

“David is dead, the demon kill it didn’t him? So how is that you act so friendly toward this guy who claims himself as David? Can’t you see it? It’s obviously a play of the demon”

David soon would feel the pain.

The arrow wasn’t made to damage, instead it was made to make the boy, or as Hikaru claimed, the Demon’s play, to gradually feel an increasing pain, similar to his whole body being burned from inside without really happening.

“I don’t have that strength to kill somebody easily, less a monster. However in the hospital I thought on how to make someone suffer an intense physical pain. I will make you feel a true living hell!”

A few bandages covering her skin begun to paint into red and the girl could feel her nervous system screaming as the enchantment consumed her physically and opened several of the wounds she received the moment Junior awakened.

She felt the strength trying to abandon her body as she almost fell to the ground.

“All right…. Any of you… kill that thing, dunno how much I can hold this”

David’s eyes widened in pain and he collapsed to his knee as Hikaru’s arrow did its work. “Owie!” He cried out. “Owie!” It was an indescribable pain, part of him….a part of his being seared and charred from the inside out.

The redheaded David's eyes lit up red.

And the all to familiar voice of Junior came from his mouth. "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR!?" He growled lunging at Hikaru with barred teeth. "Mustache Joe said you'd be nice to me!" He going for the sword at his hip.

"Holy shit!" Mikkish yelled, pissed at himself for being such a dumbass to think this was David

In a split second, Mikkish dashed into this impostor David, sending a punch backed by incredible force. The punch heading straight into the back of David's neck for a kill shot.

Mikkish' time on the island was clearly paying off as a form of training, as this was a harder buff punch than Mikkish had ever thrown. He hit the false David so hard that it's skull fractured, causing the skull bone shards the sink into the brain causing hemorrhaging.

The false David lay on the ground face down, bleeding and quivering as it died.

It all happened so quickly, I didn't know what happened. Hikaru shot an arrow into David and then yelled at us in Junior's voice and then Mikkish... he... he killed him. I covered my mouth, I felt sick. He wasn't... he didn't... that wasn't... "What... have you done...?" I asked, that was all I could come up with to say. My brain began to function again and I sprung into action, I ran next to David and knelt down next to him and pink ribbons of energy came from my hands and wrapped around his skull in vain, trying to seal the deadly wound, after a few seconds, I stopped. He wasn't breathing anymore, I checked his pulse, and there was nothing. I sat there, staring blankly at his dead body.

I eventually stood up and turned to the two. "He wasn't lying!" I said, finally finding my voice. "This was a different David, but... it was still David! Not Junior!" I said, trembling. All throughout that conversation, not one lie had appeared, no chains had pierced through his body. "I didn't see any chains at all!" I said, not realizing that any of them would get what I had meant, other than Hikaru. I failed again... I couldn't save this David either. What... what good was I?!

"Nope. It was a trick." Mikkish said casually, looking over at Hikaru as she lay bleeding through her bandages.

"Man how are we gonna get anything done if theres always someone bleeding to death. Joe!" He commanded "Quit crying over fake David and fix her." He pointed to Hikaru.

Something snapped inside of me, all of the anger building up inside of me finally burst through the surface, how could he act this way after just killing someone!? How could he order me around and even try to make it seem like it was my fault?! "HE WASN'T FAKE!" I yelled, I got up and walked right up to him.

"He wasn't lying, if I say that he wasn't, then he wasn't, I'm a human lie detector, every time someone lies to me, they become a bloody mess before my eyes. I should know because every other thing that comes out of your mouth is a lie! If I could take a picture of those times and put them in scrap books, you'd fill three on your own, especially about that stupid book that got him killed in the first place! That David was real and you just killed him, he wasn't our David, but he was a David, you cruel heartless man, you just killed him, you don't even care!" I said, white energy was crackling around me wildly.

"Don't you dare blame me for any of this, she acted rashly and then you just killed him. If someone gets injured, it's not my fault! If anything it's yours, with your rash behavior, your secrets, your lies, and that stupid book! IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT DAVID'S DEAD! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT THAT ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE DEAD! Now shut up and leave me alone, I don't want to see you ever again!" I said, I shouldered past him, the energy swirling around my body sending him flying to the side. But, I didn't care, I couldn't care about a... a... a monster like him.

I was shaking by the time I reached Hikaru. I knelt down and held my hand out, trying to get my emotions under control, the white energy flickered pink and eventually stayed pink. I barely managed to focus it into a beam of energy. It was uncontrolled, so it healed erratically, sealing some smaller wounds midway through and slowing the bleeding of a few of the heavier wounds. "...Gah... just... go to a hospital!" I said, getting frustrated at my inability to heal her, getting up. I knew that I couldn't touch her or else I might just fling her half a block away.

I got up and rushed away from the group. I knew I couldn't go back to Ace's in my current condition and going inside of the hotel was a bad idea since the others could catch up to me. Then another place popped up in my head. Ace's training room in that large building... I needed to work off this energy before I send another person flying by accident. I ran my way there as fast as I could, avoiding people along the way.

I eventually got to the building and went inside. I quickly explained the situation and the circumstances regarding Ace allowing me to use his training room. I was led there and went inside quickly, shutting the door behind me. I looked around the open room and walked to the middle of the room. I took a deep breath and just began yelling my head off in frustration, anger, and despair... White energy burst from my body, tendrils lashing against the walls and floors. That burst took out what little was left in me. I fell to my knees panting. "...Why...?" I asked to no one in particular. I didn't even know what I was asking about... My voice was cracking and tears were rolling down my cheeks freely. I eventually just lied down on the floor and curled up, shaking.

I sigh heavily at the sight of Joe storming off. This was a hell of a situation and it doesn't seem to be getting better no matter what happens. I cover my mouth walking away from the dead body. Even knowing that it wasn't the David I had known it still was sickening to see the body.
Though I was more worried for Joe because of that outburst but I'd probably get the brunt of that rage if I tried following. ".... Mikkish you are always so inconsiderate to other's feelings." I mutter under my breath. Since Hikaru wasn't healed fully I would go over to her. "I can help you to the hospital again....Only if you'd like." I extend a hand to her.

Hikaru denied with her head while standing with Rue's help.

"If I stay more time in the hospital I'll just miss the fun. Besides, I don't like hospital's beds, they're ticky" said the girl.

Now that her enchantment wasn't active the tension of her body lowered. She stretched despite the acute pain of some wounds and with a grin said.

"I kinda discovered that for whatever reason my wounds tend to heal quickly."

For a moment she remembered how she stood over the collapsed and hot debris of the campus's dorms after it exploded without getting any burn over her body.

"Sooo... what do we do 'bout Joe?" Asked the girl worried

"I'm not sure to be honest. I guess we should start looking for him. He might have calmed down now......Mikkish you can't come though." She says glancing towards Mikkish. "Unless you feel like apologizing to Joe, you would probably upset him again. " I sigh heavily looking to Hikaru. "Well I'm glad your wounds will heal. I would be sad if a new friend died..... " I quickly pull up a smile. "Anyways care to help me go find Joe now? He couldn't have gotten too far from here after all."

"Fuck that!" Mikkish shouted, getting back up "I'm not apologizing for shit! And you're damn right im not going! We have a demon on the loose and were all together to for a plan to go after the Templar to strike a deal, but that whole thing gets screwed up because Joe's poor little gay feelings get hurt when I kill demonic illusions? And who the fuck does he think he is? A human lie detector? Sounds like him just making up for his immense faggotry by making himself sound like some "badass detective!" Mikkish waved his hands when he said the words "badass detective." When he did, he had a slight case of deja vu but didn't think much of it. "Alright fine, you guys go give gay little Joe a damn hug! Me and whatever smart people around here will go after the Templar!" Mikkish stormed off to find a high ranking Fraternity member, though not sure how he would convince anyone there, let alone Ace, to help find the Templar and take care of Junior.

As the group continued to bicker with one another over Joe and the now dead David, their phones buzzed. Mikkish was the first to check.

    He'd received a text.....they all had.

'Apartments near the church, in the basement. You should probably look there bro :bigwink:'

Mareck strode down Churchill street past a skyscraper, as he was he nearly bumped into a guy that had just exited the building.

After I had composed myself and released the pent up energy threatening those around me. I stumbled out of the building, completely exhausted. I nearly bumped into a man on the side walk. "A-Ah! E-Excuse me!" I said, bowing apologetically.

"oh, don't worry" Mareck said looking the guy over "say, you wouldn't happen to know where the church is would you? I'm new to the island"

"Church...?" I mumbled. "Uh... the only church I know of burnt down a little while ago, sorry." I said.

"hmm, strange" Mareck said, he didn't want to reveal the strange message yet "either way, could you point it out or lead me to it?"

"Hm... y-yeah, sure, it's the least that I can do for nearly bowling you over." I said, rubbing the back of my head. I turned in the direction of the church and walked toward it, I was a little unsteady on my feet.

"Alright, excellent" Mareck said as he followed the guy toward the church "name's Mareck, by the way"

"It's nice to meet you, Mareck, I'm Joe." I said. After about twenty minutes, we came to the burnt down remains of the church. I shuddered thinking about the officers that had died that night, and the fact that murderer was still running around. "Here we are... Mareck, just a warning, there's a murderer running loose, he's killed three mages thus far, well... as far as I know anyway." I said.

"hmm...only three?, well i'll watch my back anyway, thanks" Mareck looked at the remains of the church "Kayik, come here" he said and shortly after a cat appeared on his shoulder. He brought his hand up and scritched behind it's ear "find anything interesting" he said to the cat.

I blinked a few times as the cat appeared on his shoulder. My eyes went wide. "...He's... so... cute!~" I said finally, putting my hands on my cheeks. "I wanna take him home!~" I thought, my bad mood was quickly dispelled by the appearance of the cat.

Kayik turned his head toward Joe and flicked his tongue out toward him as Mareck looked around for the apartment building. after seeing a building that looked like apartments he turned back to Joe and saw him looking wide-eyed at his cat "hehe...this is Kayik"

"Omochikaeri...!" I mumbled, I resisted the urge to run off with that adorable little kitty. "H-Hi Kayik!" I said, resisting the urge to pet him, not knowing whether or not Mareck would be angry about it or if Kayik might scratch me. It was taking every ounce of willpower I had. "U-Um... c-could... I... could I pet him?" I asked.

"sure" Mareck smiled, bringing his hand back down, and Kayik leaned out and stuck his head toward Joe sniffing curiously.

"H-Hi Kayik." I said, I reached out slowly and scratched gently behind his ears. The smile on my face made it seem as if the world to end right now, I'd be happy. "So cuuuute..." I mumbled.

Kayik purred and mewled softly as Joe pet him and Mareck was grinning at the expression on Joe's face 'hmm, cat person then' he thought.

"Kya~ So cute... I wanna take him home!!!" I thought. After about a minute of petting, I finally, and reluctantly pulled away. "Uh... sorry..." I said, rubbing the back of my head, blushing softly. "U-Uh... anyway, why did you want to come to the church anyway? If you don't mind my asking." I said.

"oh" Mareck said. he pulled out a phone and flipped it open as Kayik pulled his head back, still purring, and pounced to the ground and sat down. "i got this message here" he held out the phone to Joe "i don't know who sent it but i want to check it out anyway"

"...D?!" I asked, shocked. I suddenly grew wary of Mareck... and then relaxed... he wasn't lying when he said that he didn't know who sent it... otherwise those chains would have skewered him... "...I'm coming with you. This man... I'm not sure whether he's a friend or foe, he gave me and my friends a tip about the murderer, but he also attacked one of my friends and stole her motorcycle... if he's set a trap, it'd be safer to have two people present, besides... he might just be using you as a message delivery system, I don't have a cell phone, you see, and I... had a fight with someone in the group and ran off, no one knows where I went..." I said.

"hmmm...alright c'mon then" he said "it looks like those are the apartments it mentioned. Let's see what this is about" he turned toward the building "Kayik, come" Kayik walked beside Mareck as they headed toward the apartments

I nodded and walked with the two, keeping my mind off of Kayik as best as I could. I couldn't let cute things distract me at a time like this! I walked inside the apartments with the two and quickly found the basement entrance, I took a deep breath, steeled myself, and began to descend into the basement, unaware of what could be lying in wait for us below...

"Apartments near the church, in the basement. You should probably look there bro" Read Hikaru from Mikkish's phone, which, much to his discontent, she took from his hands as she had lost her own cellphone.

"All right, let's go check , it may be pretty much a trap or something like that but it isn't as if we were to have too much of a lead..." said the girl with her usual cheerful tone.

These messages... what if the culprit is the one who is really sending them? We've messed too much with the murders, it wouldn't be a surprise if he were to want us dead by now.

I look towards Hikaru confused. "Why are we listening to some random text message?......I guess it is better than standing around here and being forced to work for now." I sigh heavily ruffling my hair with one hand. "What are we even looking for there really? Stuff about this crazed killer? Anybody got a weapon I can borrow, knife preferably?"

"Here." Mikkish said to Rue, handing her a broken bottle. The sharp points of the glass weren't even pointed outward, but to the sides. Still it could injure someone.

"Anyway, I thought we already established that we were going after this fucker so he could be no threat to us. Come on, we already chased off the sniper dude." Mikkish neglected to mention that his primary goal was to retrieve his book.

The burned down church where the cop battle took place stood on a street corner. To the west of it was a video rental store (bare in mind, the year is 2008. They still had those back then.) To the South West was a small gym, which looked hardly big enough for 15 people to work out in at once. And to the direct south was an apartment complex. Mikkish guessed, however, that the basement referenced in the text was the one of the apartment building closest to the church.

The basement area seemed lower-class than the rest of the building. Not only as if meth deals regularly occurred there, but as if someone might seize an unsuspecting victim out in the city and drag their passed out body to one of these kinds of apartments to be tortured to death Hostel style.

But the part that most upset Mikkish, was the fact that the gay douche that blew up on him earlier was here.

"Aw fuck. I'm guessing you got the text too? You can give the Templar a warm hug if you want. I'm killing the faggot!" Mikkish said, looking at all the apartment room doors, trying to figure out which one could lead to the Templar's hiding spot. He speed dashed/shoulder rammed the nearest one to himself, busting down the door and revealing a mostly empty room with news paper clippings glued to the walls of murders in the city, and blood stains on the carpet, but nobody seemed to be in the apartment room at the moment besides the rag tag group.

Modus Operandi of the Templar - Victimology

I turned around surprised when I heard people behind us. I mustered as much energy as I could and got ready to fight in case the killer or the man that had sent us the text was about to ambush us. I relaxed as I saw it was the others, but fixed Mikkish with an icy glare. I was about to open my mouth to reply when he suddenly ran off. "Mikkish wait." I said, but I knew that he wouldn't listen to me I looked back at the others and bowed apologetically. "I apologize for running off and if I worried you..." I said, I was about to introduce Mareck when I heard a door getting busted down just a few moments later. "Oh god... Mikkish!" I said, I turned and ran off toward where I heard the sound.

I nearly fell over as I stopped abruptly next to the door that Mikkish had busted down. I looked inside and was about to chastise Mikkish for randomly busting down doors for no good reason... but stopped. I walked inside and looked at the newspaper clippings and the bloodstains on the carpet. "...It's... It's his... hideout...? Or... is this where he kills some of his victims...?" I muttered, thinking about it. "Or maybe... that's...!" I said. "We have to call the police, they need to investigate this room immediately, this blood may very well be th e killer's." I said, with a positive DNA match, they could catch him and put this nightmare to an end... or maybe blood magic could lead them to the killer.

However... I got the feeling that I should read the articles... I mean this is a compilation of all of the information on his killings. If this wasn't his blood, at least we could try and identify people who could possibly be targeted. I began to walk around the room. At a glance, it would merely appear that I was just glancing at the articles and moving on. However, on closer inspection, it could be seen that my eyes were quickly darting back and forth, reading each article and absorbing the information.

I eventually stepped into the center of the room and put my hand on my chin and shut my eyes. "Twenty victims... this man has no mercy..." I muttered, I dug my nails into my other arm... suddenly, blue words began to flow around me, it said 'The Killer's MO-Victimology'. After it was the word 'Mages'. "The victims were each of different gender, he didn't judge based on that, but of course, we knew this from the victims that we've seen thus far, however, each of the victims ranged from teenagers to young adults." I muttered, a red line went through 'Gender' and a word appearing saying 'Young' appeared. "However... I did notice in the articles that it mentioned that the victims lived troubled lives... could that be one of the reasons that he chooses someone?" I mumbled. A new word appeared saying 'Troubled'. "Finally... I noticed that any comments from the family always came from a mother or siblings, never a father, the father isn't present for them." I muttered, the word 'Fatherless' popped up. "As far as I could tell, none of the victims that he has chosen contradict these four factors, the victims were all mages, young, fatherless, and had troubled lives." I muttered. Finally, the four words stopped in front of me, bound by silver chains, and I opened my eyes. "H-Huh?!" I asked, I backed up and nearly tripped over my own two feet. "W-What the...!?" I asked, they slowly dissipated and I turned to the others. "...Please tell me that I wasn't the only one to see that." I said.

Joining the Academy had been his best decision in years…

The boat to the island had been a complete bore. It’s true they had some tasty black liquorice vines in the food stall, but Tom needed more entertainment than that. He had to sneak into the boat’s resource record to look for a notepad which could give him some fun. Paper by paper, the blank notepad burned; fiery butterflies scattering in the wind, as the boy amused himself.

Once he got into the island though, he could not contain himself with amusement. Magic and mages everywhere! People exhibiting guns which would make many of his videogame characters feel ashamed. But that was only the beginning. He had recently heard talk of demons and murders, and fires! His blood had boiled with the news. Of course, Tom left his registering- in-the-campus-part for later, and set out to investigate the island on his own.

He stepped inside a video rental store to pass judgement over the island’s movie preferences. ‘That’s the cheesiest movie I’ve ever seen’. Tom thought as he looked at the poster of ‘The fire bearer- A legend of Pyromancy’. He looked through different sections of the store, reading movie summaries, glancing at posters. ‘No videogames?’ He thought. He suddenly saw a dirty note on the floor under a Sci-fy shelf. ‘Join the Fraternity’. It read in a bold black writing. Right under it was a smaller sentence. Tom took the note closer to his face to read and WOOSH! The note caught fire and burned. ‘Hey you! No fires in here!’ The man behind the cashier screamed. ‘We have had enough problems with fire recently. Go look at the church next door for yourself!’ The man continued. Tom did feel like going over to the church then.

There were ashes everywhere. Grey over grey. Tom gently paced around the charred church, looking over a sight which he had seen countless times. He felt a warm sensation in his jacket pocket. He removed his deck of cards, picking out the one which originated the warmth. His Ace of Spades was burning with heat. Was it reacting to the ashes? Was it sensing magic? Tom could not tell. Whatever had happened which burned that place down, it was bad. Bad even to his personal standards!

Tom looked about himself. There weren’t many people out in the streets. He had no clue where to continue his personal “investigation”. He was about to decide lying on the ashes and taking a nap when he saw a pretty mid-tall girl with red straight hair rushing inside an apartment. ‘I already know where to go next’. He said to himself.

"Joe quit acting gay." Mikkish said, looking around at the newspapers glued all over the walls and assuming that was what had Joe so freaked out.

"And we're not turning him in. We're here to make a deal. Juniors out there." Mikkish scanned the small apartment living room for any signs of advanced technology like the Templars supposedly had. All that he saw in the room was a worn out trashy looking sofa and a desk. The guy didn't even have a t.v. While Joe was horrified by the floor, Mikkish was disappointed. Seriously, he wasn't smart enough to know to get rid of these blood stains but he had been killing mages left and right.

The only truly interesting, non-cliche (of a killer) thing in the room was that when they entered, they all felt eerily safe, as if hiding in a bunker as artillery shells rained down above. Not even Mikkish could deny that was odd, the feeling that they could take a nap and be okay when they woke up. It might have been a Templar trick to make them lower their guard, but it was becoming more and more faint. Dissolving. And dread and fear began to fill them. Not necessarily of the killer, but it was more like the dread that comes with being completely exposed, and any dark horror of the world could get to you, assault you, at any moment.
