I must admit I miss @JJ_Maxx when he wasn't ramming god down everyone's throats. And @arron_89, who was very well read. And @Aeschylus.
Awww ...you're so diplomatic, as usual. I wish I had taken that route. Instead of that, 2 sleepless nights, worrying about who I left out....
Since I posted my post - I keep remembering other members I like a lot. @Ben414 included. I've added some names to my original post - but it just doesn't seem enough. And I remember @Torana. There are very few people who have used this forum that I really dislike, and most of those are gone by the way of a well deserved banning.
Well, her posts live on. My name is Stacy Crabapple. My screen name is Stacy C and I joined the forum on May 3rd, 2015. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. On a wholly unrelated note, as fiction writers, we occasionally have to kill off a character to advance a story arc.
Never a truer word spoken in jest. I've just sat and cried because a character I've recently "damaged" actually turned out to be one of the really good guys.
I've only been here for 4 months or so, and still haven't joined a lot of "deep" discussions, but there are some really nice people here who I enjoy talking to, like @jannert who was kind enough to give me some great horoscope analysis recently, then @Komposten and @Tesoro who helped me with some of my research... I'd also like to mention @KaTrian and @Mckk who seem like really nice folks too. Looking forward to getting to know you all a bit better.
Your avatar is scary and your name conjures up all types of horrors. Sounds like you are some sort of 'spy' PS... I am joking
I'm a teeny drop in the ocean so far, but I am liking the inclusive atmosphere here and LOVE the way everyone debates without resorting to mud-slinging ad hominem... or ad homonym, as I've heard grammatical nit-pickery called! Which does sound kind of patronising I guess, but it's nice to see. Unless you've just got a separate room for that here and I've missed it?!
Whoa. Ladybird, what happened to your avatar? I didn't recognize you. It's like you got a new hairstyle.
so that's a man's diplomatic reply when they don't like something "Honey, do you like my new hair style" "It'll take me a while to get used to it, but change can be good." Actually, I've just realised when you click on my avatar the tongue wiggles
Woah. Talk about a trip down memory lane... Thanks @jannert and @EdFromNY for the recognition. It's nice to be remembered (even if initially forgotten ). Looking at all of these names reminds me of just how intimidated I was by you all when I first joined. So much so, in fact, that I didn't even become active until almost a year after I had initially joined. You all turned out to be such nice people after I stopped being such a newb. Ha ha! In the end, I can say I've met some amazing people and my life is all the better for each of you who've touched it. Now, as for oldest friend, that title goes to @JessWrite , as she was one of the first people I began to communicate with. I think it had to do with the fact that we're in the same age bracket. We don't hardly talk these days (less so now that I'm less active), but I do still wish her well. I don't think it would be all that fair to try and pick a best forum friend or even a list of of them. You all have been so great to me in various ways. There's little by way of comparable qualities for me. Even so, I do feel that some honorable recognition is in order sooo, here we go! @minstrel is high on my list because he's always so friendly. He even sent me a very good book,The Art of Fiction, by John Gardner. I know I can always count on @GingerCoffee for a strong debate and some interesting facts. Kind she may be, but fierce. @Wreybies is a pro if I ever knew one. Can always count on him for interesting commentary in his unique manner of speaking (typing??? ). We've also tossed around a few great ideas for the forum in the past. And of course @jannert and @EdFromNY are among my favorites. Two very talented, knowledgeable, down to Earth, and all around positive contributors. I definitely can't have a complete list without @thirdwind and @Lemex. These two characters always get the wheels spinning in just the right way. Agree or disagree, I gotta respect 'em for stimulating conversation, and good character to boot. (Although, we're often on the same page.) @Lewdog, whom I admit was not my favorite member when he first joined, is just a good guy in general. Funny, down to Earth, and opinionated. Finally I owe some love to the the power couple @KaTrian and @T.Trian. Always very supportive, great conversation, good people altogether. I've gotta be missing some, like @Cogito, @Thomas Kitchen (who should really be on that first list now that I think about it since we've had some pretty nice convo over time too), @obsidian_cicatrix , @Aled James Taylor @ChickenFreak and another handful, but if I listed everyone I've interacted with, this post would be just way too long (in my usual style ). Thanks for errthang guys. Sending you all love and digital hugs friend. I wish you nothing but the best! Andrae, da 1 n only
