    Hello all!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by LolCasanova, Jul 31, 2015.

    Hi!

My name is Lol, I'm 23, I live in England and I love writing. I used to write little stories to myself as a kid before progressing up to fanfiction at 13. I indulged in some travel writing in my late teens/early twenties and worked on a piece with a good friend (and, thankfully, a good writer) for four years before we went our separate ways and I decided to try my hand at original fiction. I've been working on my first novel for the past year and am now in the editing stages.

When I'm not working on that, I'm either travelling or working towards my next adventure. I enjoy reading (at the moment I'm working my way through the works of Stephen King), baking, photography and bugging my husband to let us get a puppy.

I'm really glad I found this place. I've found writing to be a particularly lonely sport (except for the times I had a writing partner. If I could find such a connection again, I'd be thrilled), so I'm looking forward to meeting other people who are as passionate as me and hopefully...fingers crossed...making some new friends.

That's all of now, see you around the boards :)

    Hey Lol.

Like you, I started writing fanfiction around 12-13 and realized very soon that I should make my first attempt to create original fiction. The manuscript of Part I is basically done, I work on Part II now. What kind of fiction do you write?

Since I'm from Germany, writing with English-speaking people offers me a new dimension and refreshes my perception which thrills me more than I'd have expected. I have just registered here, too, by the way.

If we have things in common, we might cooperate now and then - if you'd like to.

Stephen is one of my favorite authors! Which books have you read by him? I'm a bit newer to King's books, so I haven't been able to read all of his greater pieces. I've read Cell and now working my way through one of his more popular books It.

    Hi!

I'm currently working on a piece that I guess they'd define into plain old mainstream/perhaps young adult but I've been thinking recently of trying my hand at science fiction and then convincing myself I'm not up to it and then thinking well...I should at least try...I probably will end up giving it a go because there's so much possibility and I hate leaving an idea as just that.

I've currently read The Shining, Cell, The Running Man, Carrie and Pet Sematary, which was easily the scariest book I have ever read. Granted, I am a chicken, but that one gave me the creeps. I need to read It, I get all of my Stephen Kings from the library so I'm dependant on whatever they have in stock. I have also read his On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft. Now that was good.

Hi Lol, and welcome to WF!

Nice to meet someone who's also collaborated! I write with my husband, and it's definitely a lot fun :). I doubt I could otherwise do it 'cause writing is quite a lonely hobby.

Anyway, without further ado, here's our New Member Quick Start to get you started. Have fun!

Hi! I loved collaborating - it's a shame my husband isn't into writing or I'd happily collaborate with him :)

    Thank you!
