That sucks. :[ Sorry to hear about your crap internet connection.

As for my Not-Happy, well, my left foot is sore for some inexplicable reason. Guess it's what happens when you get older. That and the childhood habit of picking a hole in it is probably finally coming to bite me in the rear. Yeah, you've heard of habits like chewing your fingernails? That was mine. :/

    Holy shit I'm bored!!

One of those days where nothing I do will relieve it. My creativity has gone, leaving an empty shell. In fact, the mere thought of creativity makes me want to vomit.

How there's an internal voice in my head calling me a monster for having pity/empathy for those with a medical condition that looks really painful. How did I know about this condition? It was a burning quandary in my head for nearly a decade that I had to look into and I felt sorry for them. My internal voice was all, "WTF, dude? Don't feel pity for them, they don't want that. Don't see them as a walking epitome of their condition!" I mean, wow, excuse me, brain, for having some frickin' compassion! I'm not some heartless brute that doesn't care about the suffering/discomfort of others. >:[ It's possible to have empathy for someone for having to put up with a condition while also not objectifying them as the epitome of their condition, true?

I'm having real problems controlling my blood sugar levels in the mornings. The biggest factor is how stressful my commute is, but since I don't know how stressful I'm going to find it until I'm on it, I can't prepare for it. So if I happen to have a nice, stress-free commute, I then get to work and have a hypo. Which sucks. Diabetes sucks.

Obviously everybody is different, but most people in chronic pain (in my experience) are glad when somebody appreciates the daily struggle they have. I was walking around London yesterday thinking how awful it is that, in 2015, many underground stations and pavements are still inaccessible to people who can't use stairs or need level-access. That's not me patronising people with mobility problems, or seeing them as their condition. I don't feel bad about it.

You're right. I mean, whether they like it or not, they have to deal with more shit than most people. I have hearing problems (and a bit of a visual one), and whether or not I like having them (I do), that's something I gotta live with. And I do appreciate it when people, after I tell them I'm hearing-impaired, slow down and speak louder so I can understand what they're saying.

I remember a total stranger once noticing that I had a hearing aid and, out of the blue said she had a son who also had a hearing aid. Pretty awesome (if not random) moment there. :superyesh:

I stayed in the office ALL DAMN DAY for an ITV Faculty meeting that was supposed to start at 2:45 PM!!! Guess what??? 2:45 rolls around and ITV is down. I could have gone home at 10:30 this morning after my class. I could have went to my second job at noon, rather than fiddle with the scheduled to have this afternoon off, so that I could be present for the stinking faculty meeting.

I was assured that all faculty who attend would be compensated. I gave them an entire day of my life and couldn't attend because of technical issues, thus no compensation!

    Growls loudly . . .

The only good to come of it, was that I put 1600-1800 words out on a article that's due November 13th.

Just found out Millennials include people born as early as '82 -- thought it was at least 90s. I have no interest in being grouped as such. I grew up on VHS, Sega Genesis, and Ren and Stimpy. Alta Vista was considered the best search engine when we were introduced to the internet at school in grade 6. And I'm going to be among the first to die among the cohort. And I'm going to be judged the same as people half my age or less demographically. This blows.

This whole time I've been reading articles about "those guys." I have so much news site postings to make up for now. I don't know, I want to look at their conception of the demographic, especially the arbitrary 2000 as opposed to something more organic. I used to be the youngest of the baby-boom echo (I don't know which term sounds worse) having a mother born in '47. I'm not built for this kind of leadership :dead: That's right, I really am from the older generation, geritocracy all the way:bigwink:

The way I remember mine is I turn the bottles all right side up in the morning then turn them upside down as I take them. That way when I see the bottle is right side up I know I forgot to take a med. If it's twice a day the bottle goes on its side after the first dose and upside down after the second.

What if you have to take them three times a day? That's when you get into the bottle Kama Sutra?

I used to take meds, but that's a thing of the past (at least most of the time).

    <pats you on the back>

I know the feeling, bud. :( Anxiety sucks like holy shit. I've Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and it's about as pleasant as an annoying, screechy three-year-old repeatedly jabbing you in the back of the head. >:[

Fuck anxiety. :supermad: I'd cut mine off with my Master Sword (that I hold, somehow, in my whale fin) if I could.

@minstrel - That's one of the ways I medicate my anxiety: Beer, meditation, reminding myself to observe the anxiety like it were waves on the side of a rocky cliff, deep breathing, etc. It's hard, it can even get tiring having to do all those mental mind-games, but it's either that or be enslaved by my constant whirlwind of anxiety. The choice is pretty clear-cut, I think.
