I get it...and you have a point. Although even if I wanted to do renders I cant because of the software issues. I really hate computers, did I mention that? I should rewrite my book so all the starships use hamsters and big gears lol...

We'll see the first book how it does if it even gets off the ground. Im still recovering and Im getting way ahead of myself after surgery on my neck...

I always liked illustrations throughout the story. Its like a nice mental break for a second before continuing on. Stephen king did a nice job with Silver Bullet. I think that was the title. Just as long as you don't over do it.

Well, it depends on the format. If I get an agent and publish traditionally, then I may forgo pictures. If it's online then maybe I can put some stuff in. I actually did the cover and I'm very happy with it.

I havent posted that for review yet because I'm still debating using my real name vs a pen name. Both have serious advantages and serious flaws.

It all depends on your expected audience.
12 to 18 year olds? Then yes/maybe, but if its an adult audience then NO.
I think you'd struggle either which way. You'd never get them past the publishers.

I like the idea of including these on a website as promo. You could also use them for guest blogs - most bloggers want images to break up walls of text, so if you have these already made up they could be really useful.

But to my eye, they don't add enough to justify the cost/nuisance of including them in books. Images in e-books tend to be aggravating because of all the different formats and readers being used - my black and white kindle is going to display an image much differently than my iPad, and I read on both. And images in print books are expensive.

So I think the images could be useful, but I wouldn't expect them to be in the book itself.

Thats good advice. Thanks. I dont know what will happen with the book. To be honest, I havent done much. I need to write the letter for an agent but I havent had the energy. Ive been going through a phase where Im wondering "what's the point".

I guess its what happens when you get older and your body starts giving out on you.
