@matwoolf Influences come out in bands, and Betty Paige is the original Fet Pinup Girl. Too bad she is no longer with us, seemed like an interesting woman. As for the plagiarism, they share a similar beat, and probably inspired the Cramps. They have like a 12 year difference between the two so, other than that I can't really draw too much similarity other than one influenced the other. It happens more often than you think, there are a lot of Metal bands that were influenced by Metallica and you can pick it up if you pay attention to it. The images are simply stolen from the net, and everybody steals pictures from the web every day.
Meh, the Cramps were okay - I enjoyed their guitar sound, but never went the full psychobilly - though was a keen, flat-top kind of guy, back then. I do understand some people like The Cramps a lot - so I would not want to cast any aspersions on them. I was kidding about - @Cave Troll, wanted to show you a stoopid clip I found, oh, um, five years ago... ...yours is better, all best Not sure about Betty Paige and...joy...or happy ...or whatever. One of my favourite rude pics is of the actress from 'Attack of the 50 Foot Woman' stretched out on a chaise longue with booze, records and no trousers. She looks great - but the poor old thing was found alone, dead, in the year two thousand and something, a year after her passing, mummified etcetera, it's a head-scratcher.
That is terrible and kinda gross, mummified? Miss Page (yeah I misspelled it the first time, whoops) past in December 2008. I actually don't much care for The Cramps, I just happened to bumble into them in my musings on youtube. So it was random chance all the way. I am kinda torn between different Industrial/Tech songs, by And One, and Blutengle as far as the thread is concerned. Funny thing is they happen to be in English despite both groups speaking German.
Feelin' love .... City of Angels sound track, Friona Apple I believe...it's bluesy and I used to love listening to it on repeat.
Venus in Furs aside, which I think can't be topped. The little known 'Pulse' by OMD ought to be played after you've worn out the Barry White with your mood setting/serenading. Give it a chance (with some good cans; none of this laptop speaker malarkey), it gets going after 3o seconds in.
Maybe this? Definitely a strong expression of romantic desire in a less simplified, perfected way. This song is kind of how I feel about romance. I really like the idea, think about it and want it. But I'm also skeptical as to traditional takes on it. ("the one" is crap in a can.) Or this? Just so vibrant and passionate. It's more about once you're in a relationship, so it's a nice contrast. BTW, these two bands are really nice under-appreciated Australian bands. Please give them some love guys!
@Lewdog I don't know, I'm pretty sure there's at least one orgasm going on in the Bjork song. Not that I don't like NiN
