    Website Self hosted wordpress help

    Hi folks,

    Hoping theres someone here thats able to help me. Having issues with my website showing up in search and cant figure our how to work google analytics or find metadata whatever that is.

    I think apart from things like site title and post tags, metadata isn't something it's easy to add out of the box with Wordpress, but there's plenty of plugins and themes that'll let you do it fairly simply.

    Google Analytics, again, you can integrate with a plugin - though I don't think that'll help your page show up in search, just tell you about the traffic you're getting.

    Wordpress has pretty good SEO. My blog shows up in searches without me doing anything except using the right titles and including key words in blog posts.

    @PGWhyte do you still need help with this? I think Google Analytics is one of the most important things to have set up for you website. Wordpress is indeed good out-of-the-box with SEO, though I would recommend a per-page plugin for meta-data and page description. You want each page to have detailed, custom search engine friendly data (ideally). Keep in mind that ranking in the search engine takes time.
