That moment when you feel like you need to defend yourself & then you remember "I don't have to defend myself!".

Oops - this is the random thought thread! Oh well. Nothing like killing two word birds with one stone! :)

Coffee & oatmeal, yes. No Death Metal for me, please. Too old for that! Well, actually a lot of older people like Death Metal. I've never been able to, as a whole. Some of it I like but nothing comes to mind. At the moment.

I'm listening to Fleetwood Mac. :)

When someone hovers around you with a sign that says "rules" & looks like a banana, what do you think?

First thing that comes to mind is: Why that guy is fool. Secondary that is absolutely
absurd, and not to mention not to be taken seriously. :p

The more haunting thought is what she may use bananas for, and therefore finds them to "Rule". :p

Have you ever heard someone say, 'I hate Christians because they are all bigots' ?? How weird is that statement? :)

You might be right on that.

I have a tattoo of the Gryphon from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland on my not very manly chest. I'm told it takes way from my exceptionally fine nipples.

I wish I could show my nipples. (Is what I was gonna say. :))

Instead I'll say, it's strange when you've just arrived and someone already wants you to shut-up. Hmmm...something about that just doesn't jive.

How about a shot of salvation in the form of a good random thought in order to get to the end of the work day in one piece.

Damn, I can't come up with one right now.

Will report back when one occurs.

Sorry for quoting something from this far back, but... yeah.

It's tough being a geek when your particular brand of geekiness is old-school. You raise your geek flag and you get hit with a barrage of queries about things things you don't care about and don't know about.

    • Comic books and the related fields of arcane knowledge concerning the characters: don't know, don't care.
    • Science Fiction TV - Film: Yeah, I know some of this stuff, but, sorry, most of my knowledge predates 1995, and there's a whole new generation of geek that thinks anything that predates Peter Jackson's rendition of Middle Earth just isn't worth mentioning (because it happened before they were born during the Years of Unknowable Things). You see the lights go out in their eyes when you mention ORIGINAL Battlestar Galactica, or if you talk about Space 1999, they're like "Was that on SyFy Channel or some shit?"
    • For me, being a geek meant typing programs (we did not call them aps) in Atari Basic or Apple Basic, not strip-modding the latest laptop.
    • The Science Fiction books I know and love and can almost recite by page are from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's..... again, the Years of Unknowable Things.

    So, yeah...

I like being myself - doing whatever comes to my mind. Especially on the internet. Doesn't play out so well anymore. And I mean no harm! It's relaxing to me - reading, writing, trying to figure folks out. Just something I enjoy.

All I really want is a place to do that. :)
