    Premier League Season 2016-2017

Discussion in 'Entertainment' started by Historical Science, Sep 20, 2016.

I thought I would make a thread about the season. A lot of folks on here seem to be from the UK and being a soccer football fan in America can be quite lonely at times.

This season is shaping up to be very competitive, so many new coaches and exciting signings for a lot of clubs. As a Liverpool fan, I'm hoping for a top 4 finish and a cup (it's about time) but we'll see what happens!

I did wonder where you were situated. Soccer :meh:
Watching the Leicester Chelsea match right now...boy, Leicester are all over them. I was glad because I wanted another big team to suck along side us and Chelsk look like the takers, but then they go and bloody score on the cusp of half time :supermad:

Your doing alright tonight against Derby 0 - 3 up at half time. Too early to tell what's going to happen this season but the way Liverpool are playing at the moment you'll get your top four for sure.

Haha my mother's from Surrey so that has to count for something! Haven't been across the pond in almost 10 years but hoping to make an Anfield game later in the season.

Let's hope but if there's anything I've learned from a life time of watching Liverpool its that they are consistently inconsistent. I mean so far we've beaten Arsenal and Chelsea away and destroyed Leicester at home but lost to Burnley. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they drop points to Hull this weekend either.
It's going to be a loooong season for Leicester I think.

Not only Leicester, united, too. Good grief 5 games in and it feels like LVG is still in charge.
I'm going to watch tonight's game from behind a cushion.

4-1 and we played well dropping Rooney, which makes me sad, but it is needed.

Liverpool 5! not bad although i'd rather they didn't score that many

Arsenal and Chelsea being the shock of the day for me 3 - 0 to Wenger o_O I had this at a draw to be fair but it just goes to show...I know diddly doo :supertongue:

Haha a good weekend for both of us! Liverpool still can't keep a clean sheet though haha

We beat Leicester 4-1 before it was fashionable!

WestSHAM! What's going on their o_O not that I give a crap :supertongue:

Liverpool are lucky to have Klopp. Love his enthusiasm. Lets hope Klopp don't turn into Flopp  or here's hoping it does! :superidea:

Scousieee scumbusters... joke...don't hurt me, i'm red remember :superagree: Only...proper red :superyesh:

Manu have a tough month coming up still not convinced. Need more consistancy. Love Rashford! Didn't want Zlatan at the start but I admit I'm warming to him. He's not the self centre player I thought he was.

Citeh worry me, and I hate to admit that because it makes me feel very sick

    Jeez, scary!
International break will be interesting since Alladyce's scandle broke! I feel sorry for him a bit but what a pratt for putting himself in such a position.

Do you reckon this is the start of the Rooney decline at Manu?

Yes i think so, seeing how more fluid we were, movement off the ball was great too. Many played better at no 10. I understand rooney starts on thursday, but benched again for stoke on sunday.
Against leicester, we showed our capabilities, I expect us to push on now.

Poor sam indeed, strange how these journalists have tried the same with 11 other managers. Sam should of been wise n kept shtum.

I agree but it was his agent and accountant, I think that set the meeting up...strange. o_O

I wonder who will be next in line...Pardew?
Please not a foreign manager  Not that I have anything against foreign managers but I'd prefer an Englishman for the England job.

Stoke next in the league. They've been having a bit of a wobble and I would imagine against United they'll want to prove a point.

Chance for a United to get some momentum going now. Good win over Leicester at the weekend, a home game tonight against a smaller team and then Stoke at the weekend who have had an awful season so far.

Game last night was sloooooow! :superfrown:

I fell asleep with my eyes open

 Seriously Fellani and Pogba cannot and should not play together. It does not work. Carrick should have come on for Mr Elbows then the ball would have gone forward quicker instead of LVG's famous back and sides.
Woo! Feel better for that :cheerleader:thanks for listening people.

Internationals...hate them. Watching England vs Solvenia right now and it is bloody boring padestrian football. I'm in snorzeville as I type.

I'm dreading the game on Monday. I reckon Liverpool are going to spank United.
Gosh, I hate to admit that.

England is hard to watch. Even the highlights were boring and looks like they should have lost.

My predication is Liverpool 3-1. Man Utd goal on corner or set piece. All of Liverpool's goals probably off counters.
