To put it simply, a way of either limiting or balancing charter abilities for the game. A simple version can be found in The Unnatural Horror RP (https://www.writingforums.org/threads/the-unnatural-horror.144932/). At the moment I think I'll leave it out.

It could be done, but it would require all parties keeping character and inventory sheets, and plenty of math.

This is the system from the one I linked. More or less used only in the beginning of the game.

The requirements for this one is being able to count to five.

Yes, but only one math, far from plenty.

I'm not a fan of it. Makes character creation a little too formulaic, IMO.

Would anyone be interested in an Avatar-based RP? As in the cartoon on Nick? I'm thinking it'd be during the time Aang disappeared, and the Fire Nation begins the war. There are many distinct possibilities that could go. Annihiliation of the Air-benders using the comet, beginnings of the war. Sadly, it will be bleak for the two nations that survive the opening moves.

Would anyone be interested in a faux renaissance military setting where you play a stylish, business savy mercenary Captian, where the appearence and 'brand' of his or her troops is just as important as the tactics and weapons?

You would make a characters sheet, but also a unit sheet, describing your company of soldiers' appearance, attitudes, training, and best practices. Think swiss pikes and arquebus led by boistrous captains just as concerned with the soldiers' pensions as they are with drill.

Combat would follow common sense rules. Creativity and awesome descriptions of last stands are allowed, but if you present a mighty pike wall to a line of rifles, you're going to loose people. You would describe your character's actions along with your unit's maneuvers. You have two characters.

Narrative would follow an rough outline. It would start with characters talking with each other, negotiation with the employer before combat, maybe a little preparation, combat, then post battle review and rewards. This would then repeat until the overall plot is resolved. There's obviously room for creativity, and I believe the characters discussing whether or not to take a bribe from another employer would be just as fun as a big descriptive battle sequence.

    How bout it?

I could be up for that ... not least because my main WIP is about recon soldiers fighting tribesmen in a post apocalyptic setting, and Aidan in celtic gods in a sell sword. (one of the books that god me interested in writing military fiction was "the dogs of war by frederick forsyth)

I'm a little confused about it. Are we the employed, or the employers, or both? I'm afraid I have no idea what Faux renaissance is. I need to know what that is first (I'm guessing it's some kind of technology era).

As for the main idea-color me interested.

Both. Nobles would hire characters, but you are managing your company of soldiers. We would all have the same employer, but everyone has a hand in negotiations. For the setting, think a mix of renaissance Italy with Swiss pikes and early firearms.

As I said, color me interested. Are we allowed to be Ninja-like characters by any chance?

And thanks for clarification on the setting. If my ninja idea fails, I shall have an army of foresters or crossbowmen.

The limitation of the setting is that you sort of have to play a showwoman, at least outwardly. Your whole objective is to sell the performance of your company/military force to the highest bidder.

However, maybe the brand and speciality of your force is that they are skirmisher types with a lot of cavalry and sneaky rifles poking on the battlefield.

So our characters have to be female? Wouldn't guys be more dominant in that era?

Nunnonono, male or female characters are welcome, no difference. I was just mixing up the ol' gender pronouns.

"If we hope to defend this magnificently robust and modern country, and indeed this age of enlightenment the threads of our minds are passing through, we must first defeat, nay, tear down, those old institutions of hateful ignorance that have kept nubile young wo-men from serving in the ranks of our free Companies.

This, my fellow Captains, us why I wear this whalebone latice neathe my halfplate, with gold follicle replaced with elegantly flowing lace. If we wish to weave those virgin strands of raw, flexible, stylish strength into our ranks, heaving armored bosoms justoposed against immovable, erect pikes, we must show them they are welcome to be themselves."

I'm gonna finish my current RP before I ask the MODs for permission, plus there's some more research to do on the Renaissance before I am confident enough to lead a FAKE Renaissance setting.

Would anyone like a RP with Life and Death? It was a short story that got a little out of hand...
Basically, Death disappears and his children have to find him while also reaping souls that are floating around.
