What do you think of the Marshall Plan for Novel Writing?

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by LotusMegami, Oct 23, 2016.

I read it because I have trouble with plot structure, but some things about it seem confining. For example, what if the protagonist's goal changes, once she realizes what is really going on? That's kind of crucial to my plot, that she do a total 180 once she realizes the truth.

Is that something that readers would object to, or is the Marshall Plan just being overly constraining? Actually I can't recall reading any advice that takes into account a change of goal.

The First Rule of Learning the Rules: you do not talk about don't learn the rules so you can follow them, learn the rules so you can decide whether to follow them or not ;)

The Second Rule of Learning the Rules: learn the rules from as many different rule makers as possible. Different rule sets will say different things, and seeing the different options for rules will make it easier to decide which ones to follow and which ones to break.

Rebuild the economy of Europe through direct financial support and a modernisation of business and trade?

    Might work, I guess...

Taking a lot of history courses tends to give a person a certain perspective...
