    2016 Nobel Prize in Literature

    So, Bob Dylan won this year. More than anything, I'm shocked since this isn't the type of writing that gets awarded. I think it came as a surprise to a lot of people. Thoughts?

    Poets have won in the past. I don't know that I would draw a distinction because music is attached. I do agree that it is a surprising choice.

    We're used to awards in music being more about Grammy's and Billboards but I don't see why lyrics shouldn't be recognised by literature if they're really good.

    I think it's more a case we need to know what makes his lyrics so prestigious :meh:
