If you could, what would you tell your 30-year-old self?

So glad you up and moved to California, but please don't sign up for a masters degree that will never pay for itself. . .

What? Not like there is anybody there to leave you,
that already happened 4yrs ago. But hey, at least you
won't have to say that your still trying to get your first
book up on amazon. So a thank you might be nice...
Screw it, you will already know all of this, and life
will still be here at the bottom of the barrel. On bright
side you made it that far. Hope you have enough for
a drink, cause nobody but you will give a shit.

    Love,
Me :p (well you in the not too distant past)

If I could talk to my 30Y/O self?

It'd mostly be a string of, "My bad"s, and "I'm so, so sorry, I didn't mean for things to go this way, I swear." with just a hint of, "But uh, well, seems like this is your problem now. Good luck."

Probably something like 'Watch out for the Blue Lady. When you see her, you'll know what to do.'

That has no bearing on anything that's happened in the past 4 years, but Future Nige is near-constantly dealing with Past Nige being a moron, so it's time he got his own back.

I have nothing to say, no regrets or things to do differently. So.. I'll decline :)

I am not 30 yet either, but I think I would also tell myself not to get bitter, not to think that I've learned and experienced it all because I've turned 30, and hopefully, I get to tell myself that I really hadn't needed to worry back in my twenties because we turned out just fine :)

Awww v Hugs @Cave Troll :friend: - you're a little bit far away to take drinking on your birthday, but start a thread and we can have a virtual piss up (except that I'm on antidepressants and thus unable to drink alcohol at the moment - but i'll lift a non alcoholic beverage vto your thirtieth year)

"RESPECT for yourself! Independence and a career. Confidence don’t wait for it to come to you and believe in yourself. Your self is all you have. Most importantly, do your best every day and you can’t go wrong. Build a strong foundation for yourself. Start saving. Don’t waste money and be smart about how you use it because you would be old too soon and you would find that you don’t have enough to have a good life. Having a good life is not just for the young. It’s harder when you’re old and don’t have money.
Forget the cliché get married have kids. Kids disappoint you and you spend your whole life worrying about them. Life is never what you expect it to be."

Free speech advocate Jack Weinberg once said, "Don't trust anyone over thirty." Then, he turned thirty. What was he thinkin'!? I'd tell myself not to listen to voices from the future. You never know who's got an agenda...even you...later.

By this time, ten years from now, you will have a new life you can't possibly imagine now. Follow your instincts, and don't be afraid to take a big leap of faith that seems out of character. It will pay off. Big time. Instincts don't lie.

"Life is very short, each day is one less day of your life. You must live in a happy way without hurting yourself or others in order to live without regrets.
You are going to die tomorrow. So, today do the right things and speak the right words.
It is always at the last moment that we regret the things not done and the words not said.
That is why, you must remind yourself that everyday is the last to create the greatest things possible"

Can I borrow $9999 ? Once I turn it into a hundred grand for you, you're not going to need it anymore, and the bank won't be required to report it :)

Don't buy more house than you need. (I did)

Save like a fiend for retirement. (I have not)

Spend time working out and building muscles. It will help with the next one.

Never be afraid to talk to women you think are out of your league. Don't settle; strive.

Never be ashamed of being a man.

That is a bit into the future, but I would tell myself not to lose sight of my dreams and that being mature doesn't equal giving up.

    1. Don't do it. The thing you agreed to do a couple months ago (when you/we were stupid and childish 29). It might sound fun, and it will be, but don't do it, you/we have already shortened our life enough.

    2. Kill ST. Today. Just stop the madness. Give SR some breathing room in the future.

    3. Go get your deep vein thrombosis taken care of before it spreads into your joints. It will make walking, you know, that thing we love, very painful in the future.

    4. Do even more shrooms.

    5. I would then kick him in the backside and slap him across the head and ask why he didn't kill Bush Jr when he had the chance.
