This is the second time in the last couple of months I've seen this. It reminds me of an issue we had when we first switched to Xenforo™ where - for whatever reason - the software was stubborn about certain strings of characters. The last recent member it happened to, the problem made itself known in trying to post an Intro Post. It's got nothing to do with permissions for the member, and the last time I checked into it, there was nothing spammy about the member's post. The member sent me a screen shot of the text, I posted it for him, changed the author of the post to that member so that it belonged to the correct account, and the member never experienced it again to my knowledge.

ETA: And you're correct, there is not limit to the number of posts or messages. Members can post until their fingers bleed. This is coming from a string of characters in the post.

@Daniel, you're the only one with keys to these admin areas. Any help?

My button has disappeared... I had to post the raw image by pasting as... the upload a file button has disappeared. So yeah, I don't know what that's about.

Do you have Flash Player installed? If you have Flash Player the Upload File button is actually a Flash module. This means that errors in Flash can cause problems with the button. It's also possible that ad-blocker software can clash with it, if you have Flash Player (this has happened to me).

I'll update my flash player and see if that sorts it, thanks.

It does sound like you're triggering the spam filter somehow. Are you trying to send an attachment, a link, or a message to more than 2 recipients?

What's the nature of the message? Certain words or phrases are flags for spam blocking (i.e. forex, credit card, pharmacy, mortgage supplements,) as these are often used in spambot messages.

I would recommend forwarding the PM to me, and if you can't, PM or link me to a screenshot.

@SolCommand Have you tried responding to the other members message by creating a new PM?

I remember that - very bizarre.

Edit: @Wreybies @SolCommand I've looked through the logs and confirmed it's flagging your messages as spam through our third-party spam filter. I believe this is because URLs were targeted in our anti-spam filter for accounts with less than five posts. Since there was a url in at least one of your messages it flagged it as spam.

I've made some minor adjustments to our filter. If you could try again and report back when you get the chance it would be appreciated.

Thank you Daniel. I just sent you a PM as a test and with the responses to your questions. The message went through ok on my part, you should have received it.
    Have a great day

    [Solved]
    Broken link at bottom:

    https://www.writingforums.org/faq/usergroups.114/

Reviewer members are forum members who work as both individuals and team members to leave quality reviews in the writing workshop. You can learn more about the Reviewer usergroup, Reviewer requirements, review standards, and how to become a reviewer here.

    Last link "here" is exactly:

    url=http//www.writingforums.org/faq/reviewers-group.128/

    [Needs fixing]
Tab "Articles" at top of any page. The only links that function are Article List and Submit Article.

    At this page:

The "Publishers" subtab has a bad link:

I fixed the Usergroup FAQ link. The other two can only be fixed by @Daniel.

Also, just to clarify what was meant by "The Publishers subtab":

If linking to URLs early on in a person's membership causes posts to be flagged as SPAM, it might be a good idea to put this information in the New Members Guide.

Some won't bother to read it, of course. But those who do will know not to create outside links till they've done a number of posts—say 10, to be on the safe side.

New members who are genuine, may well want to link to helpful sites in their early posts. They won't know any better unless they're informed of what really happens when they do.

Re-appearing bug: Last year, getting a "502 Error" (Chrome for android mostly) was a pretty common occurrence, especially when tapping on "alerts" or "what's new." It seemed to go away a couple months ago, however, I've had three or so in the last 24 hours. Don't have any idea what this is related to, if I get any more, I'll try to put together more specific info.

I don't know if its a bug or a design feature, but i can't make quotes work in the signature - every time i paste it in it removed the square bracket code

I've come across a bug this evening.

When I go into a thread, then click the banner to return to the homepage, I'm taken to the "Articles" section. When I try to click the banner again, it just refreshes the Articles page.

It's happened three times within ten minutes.

I'm not sure, definitely willing to look into it. The most helpful thing would be a screenshot, the exact time it occurs, and the url link clicked when it appears.

Not sure, I think it's a feature lol.

Should be fixed, that was due to active software changes I'm working on. Should not occur any longer.

When you go to a member's profile there will be 2 (active) 'Members' tabs in the navigation bar. I don't know if this is an old or new bug.

I'm not sure exactly when it started, but these last few days the quote feature has been giving me fits, sometimes requiring several tries and other times refusing to work entirely.

I second this. I've been having issues with it as well. The mobile version is much worse than desktop.

The "+ Quote" function or the "Reply" function?

The +Quote function, though this time it gave me no trouble.

My recent workshop posts tab on the right side of the homepage disappeared. Is there something I need to do to my account to get it back, or is it a forum wide thing?

I think it happened when Daniel was playing around with the "Member Publications" panel. I think there is one other thing that have disappeared from the sidebar as well, and we also have the problem of Debate Room threads appearing in New Posts (which should not be the case).

So, good news: it's not just you. Bad news: it's not just you. ;)

"Recent blog posts" is back, but it's only showing the poster's avatar, not handle:

Recently banned member @ToeKneeBlack's books are still showing up in the promotion feed at the top right. I'm guessing that's not right.
