you're either creative enough to be a writer of fiction, or you're not... i don't think any how-to books are going to help you... the books/stories you need to read constantly, are ones like what you want to write, that're written by the best writers...

To me I generally see all things as a possiblity to end up in a story which include conflicts I've seen, heard of or encountered. You need to start programming yourself to see what conflicts you've enountered, etc. and alter them accordingly then put them in the story as you see fit. It needs to be an active effort on your part, to see how something could be complicated and thus create conflict.
