Too many because I can't keep up with them. I have outlines waiting to be written. I have a hard time deciding which I want to write next.
Recently, I got a cool idea for a novel while debating on paltalk in the Christians vs Atheist plus room. Two nations live on space stations that orbit a dead planet. The humanoid species are all born females and all turn into males at around age sixteen. One nation has a goddess and queens. (They rule from 11-16). The other nation has a God and Kings. Anyway, it was strange how the idea came to me.

I'll have to subscribe to this feed. That way every time my phone buzzes I can say, "Hold on, I'm getting a really good idea..."

I rarely get an idea. But when I do, I am usually able to run on it for a while.

What inspires your ideas?
Hey all, I'm new to writing as a hobby, and it is getting more fun the more I do it, but I am always lacking ideas of what to write about.
I just wanna' pick some of your brains. =P What inspires you and helps you think of ideas for plots, and motivate you to continue to work on them? Right now, for me, listening to slow instrumental music helps me alot (stuff like James Horners work). It doesn't give me an idea, more so than it brings me to a new place in my mind where I can create ideas quickly. Kind of difficult to explain. |

I've actually had quite a few ideas come from different mangas that I've started to read. Something written in them will trigger some idea of how to twist things so they can work for me. That and of course music.

This is going to sound horribly vague and not remotely helpful, but life. Life inspires all my ideas. What's good in it, what's wrong with it, the seemly endless scenarios it gives rise to.
My best advice is... just put pen to paper, or finger to keys and write. It doesn't matter if what you're writing is bad, not for the moment. Just write, and write, and write. Then stop. Look at what you have, and something will come to you. Some way to edit it into something better. |

Music always seems to inspire people to write. even for me.
Enya is the main music i listen to when i want to write or get inspiration. or music like Enya's. as long as it is relaxing and individual. but thats when i want to write stories and such when i want to write poetry or lyrics the heavier the music the better really. ![]()
