Is it a 'rebound' if it's just catching up? I'm not entirely sure I still have feelings for her anyway.

Oh. I'm back, I think. Long enough siesta to forget why I left, and my family are starting to get annoyed with my writing rambles that should really be on this forum.
So... Hi. Hows it goin'?
Just discovered a new reality show called Oddities.
...Have any of you seen this show? Is any of that for real?!

(Hey, it makes sense if you think about it in writing terms.)
No, but it's still worth being careful. Don't be like me, feeling you need to find some girl to help you get over some other girl. Or, in my case, skip church because you know you'll see this girl and you always end up acting a million miles out of character around her in some vainglorious attempt to impress her.
I'm essentially over the relationship now. Sides, I was talking to one of my ex's flatmates and friends last night (she added me on Facebook out of the blue) and I was told everyone in her flat has stopped talking to her, and they feel sorry for me. They are 'on my side', as she put it. I've cut all connection to my ex-girlfriend, it seemed like the best thing to do. And with this other girl: we are good friends, and right now the both of us are very busy. There simply wouldn't be time to try for a relationship, even if we wanted to. I guess I was feeling comforted by talking to my friend; a female ear who knew me well enough.

Be serious dude. I don't mean to pretend I know you, but even I know that can't be true by a long shot.
Just because she's made a dumb mistake and mistreated you doesn' mean you have to act like you were never that bothered anyway. If you're even contemplating another girl right now I'd suggest you're deliberately jumping ahead as a coping mechanism. Just chill out and let time do its healing, man. It's not like you didn't love the girl right?
Having said all that it's great that people have given her a hard time over it. At least at some point or another she'll have to confront the person she's allowed herself to become.
EDIT: Actually, WTF am I saying? She's a skank. Don't waste time thinking of her. Go out and enjoy yourself!

BLOG New WIP First draft completed at 88,644 words!
Sure, it'll take a long time to properly get over it, but right now I'm hardly thinking about it. I have to because of university work. But I'm not blaming myself anymore or thinking of other, more serious things. I hate to admit it, but up until a few days ago I was in a really dark place; now I feel at least human.
I still love her, you are right - but the best thing I did was cut off all contact with her and let myself dive into studying head-first. That and I've been reading Nietzsche, which I have to admit has been a source of comfort. That's where I've been finding the most comfort to be honest; that and Scotch.
This other girl, yeah, I like her, and she's a good friend of mine. Years ago we admitted to liking each other But I don't want a new girlfriend at the moment, at all, I've too much work for a start, and I'm not giving relationships any serious thought right now. I guess I was confusing romantic feeling with the wish for a friendly ear.

I'm playing for a mate's team tonight. Firstly, I've well and truly betrayed my former teammates by joining our biggest rivals (should we meet in a game, I'm getting an absolute kicking). Secondly, I've not played at this place for two years. Thirdly, I'm wearing a knee support - last time I played, a lad in a knee support got marked out and kicked out of the game. I'm absolutely dreading it.
Hi Lemex
I think that 99.99999999999999% or thereabouts, of people over thirty have been there.
Yes it is painful; Tennyson said 'Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.' I wonder.
I'd forget the Scotch it's not a good crutch.
What you're going through is a bit like a bereavement and like a bereavement the healing process will take time - keep busy and don't forget to socialize - you're back on the market ENJOY!
On the positive side, as a writer you have this experience and will be able to draw on it in the future.
Best of luck and remember 'the world hasn't came to an end' there is still a great big beautiful world out there - you just need to rediscover it - and you will - YES you will.
The best of British to you!![]()
Yeah, that's a good idea. Losing contact gives you that needed space. Keeping yourself busy is also a good distraction from it all. I actually think you're handling it rather well.
Hope it went okay! Why did you leave your original team? ;o
Perhaps someone might tell me?
How do you do that strike through thing that Ashleigh does up there^?
If you're good enough to respond, please imagine that you are addressing a five year old who is nutritionally deficient and never got to listen to Mozart in the womb.
When you type something into a reply you have to put a [] before with an 's' and then to close it put this "/s" inside a[].
If that isn't very clear, press reply with quote on this post to see what I mean.

We learn new things every day! 8D
What did I learn? Well! I learnt a bit more about Michael Collins today, thanks to the book I'm reading (and a few delightful Irish members of a history forum I am on), and I googled the name of a U.S. Civil War general just out of curiosity, and learnt a bit more about the American Civil War. 8D
Grand day for learning!!
Now I must resume writing my Collins' essay.

I've got a big, standardized math test today. This is the last chance to take it this year, and will determine whether or not I can graduate. I haven't been in a proper math class in about two years.
I think I'm going to vomit.
Current Project: Star Queen An adventure novel (more or less)
Is it just me being silly or is it normal to be scared of a friend who prides himself on owning over 50 guns?

That's the thing. In the part of the UK I live in only a few people have guns, and saying that it's usually just a shotgun for game, or scaring/killing rodents who want crops, or clay-pigeon shooting. This obsession is really unsettling. Especially considering he also has a cupboard full of Air Soft guns he likes to keep.

I thought the UK had a strict 'no guns' policy? How the frick does this man collect 50+ guns? Does he not live there?

Guns are legal here in the UK, they are just restricted to those who can prove they are fit to use them. It's a long process though, it takes at least 2 months to apply for a gun licence. I own a gun myself, a .22 rifle I used to use for hunting, and now only use for shooting paper targets.
