If you're wondering how I know how to make leather, in my book a guy has to make leather, so I asked my grandpa and it turns out his brother was a tanner. Alright, now to the explanation. Take the skin and boil the fur off, then stretch it really tight. Then lay it out in the sun for like three months and there you go! This makes a soft leather good for making drums or teepees.
You kidding? There's a ton of information on tanning hides online. Not looking in the right place isn't the same as it not being there.
