It was pretty damn good... Though for best effect, you need to watch it late at night, with a room full of people drunk off gin, and have everyone shout the key lines.

Oh, and if you have Chinglish subtitles, then it's even better :p

I think that says it all really :p

EDIT: Actually, the bit that made me laugh was the fact that he turns to his wife first, as if to say "Honey, please may I kick this annoying man into a pit?" The realism made me chuckle.

Well i will have to disagree with this topic i watched and did not like it at all but each to there own i guess. I thought they hyped it up to much for what it is they said it was full of pure fighting and there was too much story talk well that is my opinion but like i said each to there own

sorry if i offended any body

You aren't going to offend anyone with your opinion (well, unless you're a racist, or some other controversial nut :p). Most of the people I've encountered did like it, men and women. Though I must admit, once you've had a good amount of gin the story does sort of fade into the ether, and it just becomes a bloodbath :p

Well that was my problem then not enough gin well i will have to watch it again with alot of gin to drink before hand lmao

I seem to like movies that are full of fighting and just full on action packed although i do like thrillers and drama as well but more action i think.

I spent more time online than watching the movie and then went back to the movie once the fighting had started that is were it got good. :)

Xerxes looks like a barbie doll.

And I found the nudity, although entertaining, quite unnecessary. =)

To be honest, the whole portrayal of the Persians was a bit sketchy, which was a shame because they had the Spartans down perfectly...

Might I suggest holding the gin under your tongue? It diffuses directly into the blood on it's way to the brain, thereby bypassing the liver and having a quicker effect ;) Not that we did that, or anything

Really? So Spartan society is like that? Sending the boys out to fend for themselves and whatnot?

Well, the movie itself was based on the comic book by Frank Miller. But yeah, most of the facts about the Spartans were historically accurate. Though in real life, one of the biggest advantages that they had over the Persians was their superior armor. In real life, they did not fight in just Speedos and red capes.

I lost interest half way through. Odd. I like warrior stories. I check out non-fiction Vietnam, WWII, etc. books. I must have been in a mood. Probably part of the problem was I had read about them somewhere in my past. I knew what was going to happen. I made it to the flying arrows and the fight in the shade part. Ah well...

I agree with myst. It seems like the nudity was out of place. I don't care about seeing a butt or boob here or there but it just seemed really forced. The movie was a B for me. The story line was a bit lacking but the effects were fantastic.
