    Hemingway six word story

Discussion in 'Word games' started by Addicted2aa, Mar 18, 2009.

For those who haven't heard of Hemingway's shortest story it went like this. For Sale:Baby Shoes never worn. The story behind it is that he bet he could write a story in under 10 words. Any one want to try?

Emptied bottle. Loaded Gun. I'm Sorry.

Nice. I prefer to read this as a happy three-way relationship, though I don't think you meant it that way.

    Classic. Covers everything.

I thought this related to mine when I first read it and then realized it works on it's own and is more funny that way. Well played

This is fun. Here are my thoughts:

"Does God exist?" The mortar hit.

"Who is that man mommy kissed?"

Father O'Reilly, "Johnny, close the door."

I've always liked Larry Niven's 10-word story entitled Unfinished Story #2:
To be fair, though, the word count should include the title, which is definitely a major part of the message.

    Back on topic, though:

    What price, victory? Death. Silence.
    Peace.

To be, or not to be, that is the question.

    xD

The thread is SIX word stories...

Another classic example - by Julius Caesar:
    I came, I saw, I conquered.

In the original Latin, though, it is not even close to being that wordy:
    Veni, vidi, vici.

SIX words needed. That was Seven.
