If that's the sound of a real pulsar, then I'm impressed. If, however, it's the sound of my roommate's snoring sped up by a factor of forty or so (as I suspect), then maybe I need to investigate what he's using for sleeping pills these days.

Imagine that the process of becoming a pulsar creates a level of dynamic complexity within the structure of the stupendously compressed matter and it comes to consciousness. Could Vela be communicating? Could it?
