    Ideas for conflict?

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by durannie, Sep 13, 2011.

I've just started on a novel. I had a very basic idea for it--it's about a man in a relationship in which his (female) partner abuses him. However, I'm not sure what to do in terms of a strong plot line and conflict. Any ideas?

The conflict is the plot... There's a pretty strong attitude towards not writing people's plots for them on this forum. :p

Sit around and think of the logical consequences of such a plot: why did he get into such a relationship or did she change and if so what caused it? Work from there to decide hw they both go from there.

For starters, you might want to think about why you decided on that as a starting point, where you wanted to go with it. You may also want to do some research on abusive relationships.
