Considering examples like neuromancer and the matrix, these stories describe the online world as a physical form, like another world, or like a dream, where characters can act out in them. Are there any other examples of existing online worth reading? And do any of them do anything differently? Eg not a physical world, but much like our current online world, just a static information portal which you observe only?

Is this situation a turn off for any readers/members here? It's quiet sci-fi, but should that be a concern if I'm looking to be published as literary fiction?
