Hello everyone! My name is Ashley, though I tend to use the names Juneberry and Little online. I have a pen-name for myself now, as well, Jaluna Rolik. I love to write science fiction and fiction in general, one of my favorite concepts being space travel. Most of my main characters are orphans with varying personalities and backgrounds. I was referred to this website by Plushii, whom I know in the real world. I call her 'Kaci-chan'. I have no Japanese background, but I tend to use Japanese honorifics on a regular basis. Feel free to tell me if it bothers you. There is much more I could say, however I don't know what would matter to post... So, feel free to ask anything you wish. Help is also always loved.
Well hey there Ashley, I hope you have an enjoyable stay here and Cogito will probably be here soon to direct you to the forum rules.
Welcome to the site Ashley-chan. I hope you have a good stay here. If you ever need anything, feel free to drop me a PM.
I found it myself already and read it, actually. I should probably bookmark the link, though. It's always handy, is it not? Thank you, though. I appreciate the welcome, and links to things such as forum rules are always important either way. Noodle-san: Thank you! I'll be sure to do such.
Yaaay Juneberry! You joined! Welcome to WF! Yeah...this is why I don't welcome people. I never know what to say. XD
Kaci-chan, it's probably harder with me then other people for you, considering A) You requested me to join (because you had a dream I would ) and B) You're one of my best friends in the REAL WORLD. It's never easy to 'welcome' someone you already know other then to say 'welcome'. I mean, it isn't like you're just meeting me, right? ^^;;
Hello Ashley, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
