An interesting article on the origins of currency names

Discussion in 'Setting Development' started by terobi, Mar 20, 2016.

Just read this article and thought I'd post it here, since so many people are creating fantasy worlds with their own currencies. It goes into detail on the origins of some of the most popular currency names in the world, and the kinds of things currencies get named for.

I thought "peso" was the Spanish word for "piece." You learn something new every day.
