How will I know that I can post a topic in the Workshop? I believe I met all the requirements.

Probably need to wait until midnight, 14 days after registering. But you should know because the sub-forum lets you start a thread.

Okay this is weird, I had the privilege of posting a story half an hour a go, but now I don't have it. I didn't got any message concerning that.

It happens sometimes. It's an intermittent glitch. Nothing you did. Often the magic to make it come back is to post a post like this. Anyway, that's why the big obnoxious signature in my posts. When you go back to the Workshop, if it still gives you trouble, PM me. I have can help you get it set straight. ;)

Message a moderator. As long as you keep posting here, instead of taking it straight to them, the longer it will take to get resolved. They have more things to do than chase people around the board that have problems.

Ok, I noticed the signature, but at first it seemed like PM'ing someone over this was unnecessary pestering.

I'm also having trouble posting in the Writing Workshop. I've completed two reviews, and will try to post a third. I first registered years ago, but haven't been around for a bit. I note that some people say that the post button appears if they post here, and that is my main motivation for posting in this thread.

EDIT: I've posted a third review, but am still unable to post in the Writing Workshop. I wonder if software changes while I haven't been posting mean that the software considers that I'm still on my two week probation again. I'll wait for two weeks before PM'ing Daniel.

EDIT: I'm now able to post. However, THIS TIME I forgot to put the word count in the subject, and I can't edit it :(

Thank you. I also noted that I gained a 'Member' trophy about the time I became able to post. I'm not sure if this was the factor or one of the factors that allowed me to post in the writer's workshop.

I'm another one who's met all the requirements, gained a "member" trophy, and can't post in the workshop. I've posted three or possibly four critiques [not sure if they're all constructive] and absolutely should be able to post.

I had the post button. I clicked it, wrote up my post, and then couldn't post. Weird.

This is a perfect example of The Glitch we're trying to pin down. It only happens every once in a while, and as you yourself can see, it comes and the goes just as fast. It's a tough little booger to pin down for this very reason. :confuzled:

I am unable to post in the writing workshop. I have been changed to a standard member rather than a new member and I have also received 14 trophy points which i assume comes with this, and as a reviewer I have posted several reviews/critiques.
would somebody be able to clock me over so that I can post my first chapter

Are you getting a permissions error or a server error? There's a new little hiccup that cropped up today (the server error). Only Daniel can fix that. Create your post in the Lounge and I'll move it over. Where do you want it to go in the Workshop?

    Weird, I got the:
"Creative Writing Forums - Writing Help, Writing Workshops, & Writing Community - Error
A server error occurred. Please try again later."
when I used "first unread post" in this thread but not when I went to "page 2". I can't get past the above error trying to get to 'the debate room' but other people continue to post there.

Well here's another weird aspect of the current problem. I can't open the Hobby Lobby thread in the Debate forum, but I found a work around going to the profile of the last person to post there and clicking on their post.

Same with another thread there where I can't open the thread, but I can go to page 2. The problem is connected to "first unread post" in some way, directly or tangentially, I don't know.

Once again, in the novels forum, where I am trying to post a novel excerpt, the "new thread" button is missing, and at the bottom of the page, I am told that I have insufficient privileges to post. This despite that fact that long ago I met the minimum number of review requirements to post in that forum, and only two hours ago, when I checked in but was not ready to post the excerpt, the "submit new thread" button was visible and functioning.

Update: a few minutes ago, the "Post New Thread" button reappeared. But when I clicked on it to post a new thread, I got a message saying that I lacked posting privileges. Then, a few minutes after that, when I revisited the forum, the button again was missing.

Maybe someone should deal with this problem. I assume you want people participating. Maybe not. Who knows?
