Best Books of the 21st Century (so far)

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by TheFictionalMan, Dec 8, 2011.

I haven't taken a look at any really good authors and books that are from the 21st century, so if you have any recommendations post below.

What genres? All of them or some particular ones?

I like Murakami and Cormac McCarthy, though both of them began writing decades ago. Kafka on the Shore by Murakami is probably his most famous novel from this century, although his latest book 1Q84 is really popular as well.

The Road by McCarthy is good. So is Atonement by Ian McEwan. Another book I read a few years ago and really liked was a novel by Jhumpa Lahiri called The Namesake.

Those are just some of the books I can remember off the top of my head.
