Can someone help with a title for my ebook?

Discussion in 'Electronic Publishing' started by daisydaisy, Apr 15, 2011.

    Hi All,

I'm having an absolute nightmare in thinking of a title for an ebook I'm writing! Not sure if this is the right place really, but it's a book that I'm sending out to local companies here about setting up and running a blog.

My initial title is 'Blog for your livelihood', but I'm really not happy with that. Any ideas would be most welcome - I'm giving myself a serious headache over it!!

    Thanks you!

Well titles usually have something to do with the story, whether on an emotional/psychological level or a surface level. In order to title a story you need to think about what it is about. So generic titles won't really work.

I would think a good title is something that, like the content of your ebook, is hopefully meaningful and creative in a way that some random person on a website who hasn't read your book couldn't supply you a title.

And don't mention to anyone you hope will buy your ebook that you were asking around for strangers to create a title for you. I mean, if you can't come up with a title, why would I then trust anything else in the book is worth paying for? I'd be more inclined to get the name of the personal creating your titles and seeing if they have anything to read, lol.

Because of course the person who thought of the title would be more equipped to do everything else the book talks about. That's absurd. Publishers change titles all the time. Perhaps THEY should write the books too, and we should all just focus on our day jobs and give up our dreams.

The title you suggested seems fine, daisy.

    What about Blog a Business?

I still haven't got a title I am happy with for my first book - have however had people who have read it from start to finish within a week :) - so it can't be bad.

Don't worry about it if you haven't finished writing the book (and proofreading the hell out of it). By then, a title will undoubtedly come to you.

I'm surprised so many of you have already read the book. Where can I get my copy?
