These are supposed to be genetically engineered military dogs created during WW3 that are later repurposed for law enforcement. Designated mech-pilot dogs are connected to a nerve-interface as soon as they are born; the mech is basically their native body.
Ladies and gents; I give you the most barbaric, sinister, ruthless antagonist my mind can conceive. A man whose name means death and who has no understanding of mercy or forgiveness. Here is Grugar kal'Edrax, Dreadlord of the Infinite Horde: Spoiler Okay, so I'm not a very good artist. Also I made all that up just now. But yeah, lotsa good character art on this thread. Quake in fear.
Did not know about this thread. Been working on a comic off and on for about a year. Now 2 publishers at a comic con have shown an interest in publishing it, I am working my butt off to get as many issues ahead as possible. This is 4 of the main characters.
"Born and raised as a rent-a-cop by a mallninja enclave in one of Hong Kong's walled cities, the Malldiver comes from humble roots like his brethren. Contrary to the utilitarian culture of late 22nd-century working class, mallninja life revolves around the impractical and archaic - a romanticized view of ancient culture. Over the years, the diver has developed a high level of muscular strength and endurance from carrying around heavy equipment. The suit offers complete chemical protection and the ballistics vest absorbs fire from small arms." http://neighborvoid.deviantart.com/art/Malldiver-617713860 I made this character for my wip before I started using him as a thematic internet identity. He's like a reverse-self-insert.
Haven't done this in a while. Semi-finish a sketch, I mean. http://www.deviantart.com/art/Hunters-620106203
We have a lot of concept and character art created as it gives a better understanding, makes visualization better and overall creates a bit more life to our characters. It helps us write but also helps proof/beta readers see if we're describing what we have already visualized. The urban fantasy my wife is working on tends to have more character art associated with it. For the miniatures game and source books I'm working on, there is concept art but there are more 3d sculpts created from that to create resin miniatures with.
@I Am Vague Sorry for the quietness but new one!!! Gah it didn't work. Trying to reupload It won't work it won't say why too! SADNESS!
@GuardianWynn it is the same way you upload a .jpeg, though it sometimes doesn't like to get patched through on the forum's end. None the less it is possible, though I would keep it in a smaller size to get better chances of having it work. Hit and miss really.
This is a spinoff from my fantasy trilogy that's set in the year 2129. It uses different art media on each page and the art style matures alongside the main character who's coming of age. It's not the full story, just an abridgement.
That was interesting if not a bit confusing. Curio to get the full tril just make sense of it all, but it looks like a fun read.
For some reason I still can't upload the file but maybe a link is just as good. andromon1217.deviantart.com/art/Donte-Armor-Concept-Color-633543493
Perhaps you could post a step-by-step of how you got this image to show up in a post (including where on the Internet you placed the image: Google drive? a cloud service?)? I swear I've done it at least once, but for whatever reason, now I can't.
1) Click the "Upload a File" button to the right of "Post Reply" and choose the image to upload. 2) Click on either "Thumbnail" or "Full Image" on the attachment (below the textfield where you write your post) to add it into the post.
So, I can upload an image directly from my home computer... Okay. And those other buttons in the editor header (Image and Media) are used only if the image or video exists somewhere else on the Internet already?
Very cool thread! I wonder about avatars all the time - why peeps chose the ones they do, etc. In ALL honesty, I like to choose ones that make me look good. Hell, I'm a woman, what can I say? And a very feminine woman - I want to be seen as 'pretty' - attractive, etc. An artist once drew a bunch of sketches of me from online photographs. Most of the time he made me look better than what I do - but what the heck, I use them. They're beautiful. I'm also fascinated by the placement of avatars - why it's so important to have your avatar seated or placed by someone else. To this day, I really don't understand that. Is it a way of saying 'this person is mine'? Is that not ridiculous? Most of the time it only lasts 15 mins, at the most, 1 hour. So I'm yours for 15 mins to an hour? WTF? I mean really WTF? I love you anyway. Even tho you're ridiculous. Get a grip folks!
Yes I know I am ridiculous. I look way scarier as a character in the real world. Yeah I hate to admit it, but photography is art.
