Character Issues!

    No problem. That's what the whole point is. :p I agree with what Thanshin said about your character. I think that'd be a very good direction to go.

    The only "problem" with such a female character is finding an appropiate male counterpart. You can't have a strong alpha male have her, or many female readers will stop reading. You can have a weak puppet, but you'll lose any chance of a meaningful romantic angle in the story. Therefore, you need something inbetween, a resourceful and secure albeit non dominant male.

    I'd go for a witty, disheveled, mature, wild, rogue. Something like a younger Indiana Jones, a less chauvinistic Han Solo or a smarter and less uptight Sawyer.
    I'd choose Will Smith for the role.
