How do I delete my messages?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by scubadiver, Aug 13, 2009.

The edit button says "edit/delete" but there is no delete button when click on it?

    Only moderators can delete messages.

That is correct. Users are not given the power to delete their posts, but moderators will consider reasonable requests for post deletion.

Reasonable requests do NOT include, "I didn't read the rules before I posted, and now I want to delete my post because you locked my thread."

Also, if you wish to delete a piece of writing because you decided to submit it for publication, we generally will not delete it if other members have already responded. Removing your post in that case also removes or invalidates their responses, not only your own post, and in any case, your writing has already been published (posted). Removing the post would not change the fact that the writing was "previously published."
