Was actually at a Mexican restaurant in L.A. Once I realized they had it, I had to try it. Was pretty bad. Used a whole beer washing down the first mouthful of grasshopper.

    Well its true.

Ya can't just go and shit on something if you haven't read or watched much of it.

Which, oddly enough, brings us back to cli-fi! Frank Herbert was deeply concerned with climate, conservation, and also resource allocation. The DUNE series and also the Void Ship series (written contemporaneously) all focus heavily on this idea.

Huh. Yes I do remember the final scenes as the desert disappeared and with it the worms and their spice blows. The circular nature is striking, although Sting is up there with the enviro conscious.

Spice tea in the Arrakeen desert, with you and Miles Teg.

Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy may qualify in a way. I believe he has a more recent trilogy all about climate change on Earth.

The Exxon CEO says it's an engineering problem. We just need to move everyone out of Iran, away from the coasts, and where, you know, the unicorns!!

How good must it be, to be in a situation where your work merits the commissioning of such beautiful artwork?

2010 Nebula Award winner and 2010 Hugo Award winner, both for best novel good.
Tied with China Mieville's The City and the City for the latter award good.

    Yeah, that'll do it.

I think I'd quite like to read this, but I'm getting a slight whiff of YA fiction. Am I wrong?

Yep, wrong. Not YA at all. Don't let the ecologically dystopian setting fool you. No band of suspiciously good-looking youths railing against the evil grown-ups in this novel. No angsty love triangle, str8, gay or otherwise. ;)

He's got another novel titled Ship Breaker, also cli-fi, that takes a stab at that niche.

With a cover like that, the story doesn't even need to be good.

Can you do us mainland Americans a favor, and make a list of what you think the tastiest to least tasty fruits are? Some of us are not as privileged as you and have no idea what a rambutan is.

Everybody knows the answer will be apples as number one.

Not even fruits from different parts of the world, other planets or a planes of reality will ever match the deliciousness of the apple!!!

    Classic.
