I couldn't get on the site almost all day. Granted, I didn't try a whole lot, but every time I did try it just sat on a loading screen until I got a "failed to load page" error. It wasn't my internet. Everything else worked just fine. Guess I was wondering if this happened for anyone else.
This is why I follow Writing Forums on Facebook. I knew the site was down before I even tried to access it. Must admit, it was a long day without the forum. I missed you guys so much!!
Yup, I went and checked the facebook page, even though I'm not using that platform much now, just to confirm that the site was down and it wasn's something on my end.
I don't have any social media accounts to check, haha. Oh well. I figured it was a technical problem. Thanks @Wreybies for clearing that up.
Yes but by following on Facebook people learn who your real identity is... now you all are going to be stalking me.
I didn't realise the forum had a Facebook page. I'm Facebook friends with a few other members, so that's how I was able to find out what was happening, and that the outage wasn't something wrong on my computer or browser. I've just 'liked' that page now, so will be following it. It helps to have more than one string to the bow.
No, not really. I am one of the page managers for the Facebook page, so I get notices whenever anyone posts or likes a post. There are very few people whose identity is in any way associable to their forum personas, and most of them only because they are connected to my personal page, otherwise...
He was captured by the Genii two days ago. We're still debating whether to just let them have him because, you know... Listening to McKay all day....
I would have thought what with your being an ascended being* @Wreybies you have it in hand without needing his help (*yeah yeah i know that was 1 not atlantis )
I was only kidding, not trying to scare anyone off or anything, but it really wouldn't be hard to know who I am. Given my screen name here is Lewdog and my last name is Lewis, much like your name here Wreybies goes along with your real name listed on the visitor posts. I liked the announcement that the site was back online and it showed who else liked the announcement. So FYI, if people are scared about their identity being given away, maybe there is a setting you can make that private? Anyways, great job getting the site back online.
