Question Debate Room not showing new posts?

I just noticed posts in the Debate Room aren't showing up when I look at the "New Posts" page. I don't know how long it's been happening, but it's been at least a week.

I know there's a way to hide the certain subforums from popping up, but I have no idea how to do it, thus I don't think that's the problem. I'm also not banned from there, as far as I know, because I just posted.

Any idea what's going on?

 

I don't know if the default setting as to what appears under New Posts may have changed or not (personally I have the Debate Room ignored already, so), but if you want to check you can go to profile > preferences > ignore new posts and see.

 

I don't see any option for ignore new posts under preferences.

 

Nevermind, I found it. Nothing is checked to ignore.

 

I'm not entirely sure but I think this was changed when we hid the debate room from members with less than 100 posts and 90 days. I believe it was done in order to ensure that no one stumbles into the debate room unknowingly (by clicking on an intriguing thread title in New Posts, then getting "roasted" in the DR). Instead members have to actively and consciously go into the DR if they want to participate in that part of the forum.

 

Now I'm curious. I think I "qualify" but I can't see the Debate Room.

Are there other hidden sub-forums?

 

Oh, nevermind! I just found the Debate Room. The font is so small I would never have found it if it were not for this thread.

But I'm still asking, are there more hidden sub-forums to surprise me yet?

 

There is a supporter-only forum, and a few forums for e.g. the Reviewer team and such.

There are also the Erotica sub-forums (in By the Genre and The Workshop), though I don't know if these are hidden or if people of <17 years can see them but not enter.

Just wondering is it right that as a new member I can't view (not just not post in) the Debate Room (because I haven't got 100 posts and been here 90 days) but I can view it (not post, obviously) as a guest?
Not a problem, just seems odd.
