    Daily RSS Feed Writing Prompts

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by daemon➂, Jul 27, 2009.

I think it would be neat to have RSS writing prompt feeds. Maybe you could divide them up in three categories: fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.

Basically, we would have to subscribe to a service that provides frequently updated prompts, and make that service available to our members.

RSS feeds are more suitable for rapidly changing data such as stock tickers, news updates, weather, that sort of thing. I don't see any benefit to trying to either implement our own RSS feed or to find and subscribe to a third party feed.

Sounds like alot of work. But the idea is kinda neat. You could set up something in The Lounge(or where ever). Maybe have it a stickied thread thats updated daily with a new prompt.

Then if they wanted, people could post in that thread with what they came up with the prompt. It would be purely for fun.

    Just a thought.

The closest we have come to such a thread was a Word of the Day. It ran for a while, twice, but died out due to lack of interest. It's just more work than it's worth. You have to have one or two members who take responsibility for maintaining it, and it really becomes a chore.

Turning it into an RSS feed would require additional software and maintenance.
