between a congregation and a lobby? in other words can I say? 1) a group of people are congregating in view of lobbying against the new voting system. or 2)a congregation is meeting to lobby against the new veto?
'a congregation' usually refers to the people attending a religious service... 'a lobby' in the sense of political matters means a group that seeks to influence the lawmakers on behalf of their sponsoring industry/business/whatever... so the two entities don't really have anything in common... as to the sentences, neither wording makes any sense... ...'group of people are congregating' is somewhat redundant, so 'are meeting' would be better...and 'to lobby' would make better sense than 'in view of'... ...see above for why 'congregation' is an inapt word choice here, unless it's a church group that's meeting... and 'new veto' is a bit odd... now/why is it 'new'?...
Thank you mamma.. why is it new? well veto means I quote: it is also or I consider a veto the same as ban but working the opposite way like an antonym. A ban can be lifted and so can a veto.
Another question what is the real difference between talking and speaking , listening and hearing , seeing and watching? and where is the equivalent for writing and.......?
i know what a veto is, so didn't need all those definitions... but they still don't explain why/how it would be a 'new' veto... there is none... they are synonyms... one 'listens' on purpose, in order to 'hear' something... one 'hears' simply by being close enough to the sound for it to be heard, does not have to 'listen' for it... similar to listen/hear... you 'see' as long as your eyes are open and you have working eyesight... you 'watch' in order to see something/someone appear... or to see something that is ongoing... it's not in the same category, since seeing and hearing pertain to the senses and writing is an action that is not connected to the senses directly, though we do use 'sight' and 'touch' in the act of writing... it doesn't have an actual opposite, but there are many synonyms for it... check your thesaurus...
It is new veto in the sense that you could change the meaning of the veto. Instead of it giving power it could dilute the power in the sense that it 'o longer hold the power' a bit like Henry the Eight disolving the Catholic church from having power over England's affairs. to dictate tohim so he disolved the Papal Power and created his own church.
Ok this is really not clear to me what is the difference between HAVEN HEAVEN SANCTUARY I would say: This is my haven..... presumably is a place (A place of refuge or rest; a sanctuary) This is heaven as in a place... or is heaven stronger then haven? this is my sanctuary...is also a sacred place.
