Eight strangers read gay helicopter/dinosaur erotica?

Discussion in 'By the Genre' started by Tenderiser, Apr 7, 2016.

So, uh. Yesterday a friend sent me a link to this:

My colleagues saw it on my screen and, naturally, all wanted to read it. So it's on my Kindle and we're going to have story time at 3pm three days a week (one of us is part time) until we've finished it.

In the wake of recent "x fans read x" I thought some of you may want to join us... or if there's any interest I can update our thoughts on Helicopter Man Pounds Dinosaur Billionaire Ass (A Novel) as we read and enjoy?

I'm afraid I won't be joining in because time won't allow it, but I just wanted to say that with this post you have brightened my day enormously. I look forward to reading the reviews.

Do you think they came up with that title by committee? I'm imagining a marketing meeting...

'Whaddya reckon? We like Helicopter Man?'
'Reckon so. S'gotta good ring to it.'
    'You don't prefer Biplane Boy?'
'Nah, boy's too close to kid. Gotta be careful these days.'
'Gotcha. So what about pound, you like pound?'
'Kinda like drill myself, or nail.'
    'Whattabout slam, you like slam?'
    '...'

Holy crap. They managed to make gay erotica sound not hot. It doesn't even sound romantic. URGH.
I'll watch though. Just in case. ;)
Also, :superlaugh::superlaugh: at the name of the book. To be honest, looking at the advertising, this HAS to be satire... I hope. Otherwise humanity is doomed.

On second thought, reading the excerpt provided at the bottom, and the look inside; I actually think it's somehow still somewhat sexy even though it's so weird.:confused:

Today I read a chapter of gay dinosaur / helicopter porn to five of my colleagues, as the other three were working from home or in meetings. They'll be sorry they missed it.

I posted about it here, including our reactions, but here's my chapter summary:

    Chapter 1

John Hams is at an inter-species Sexaholics Anonymous meeting. He’s there for support while he abstains from his billionaire dinosaur sex addiction and it seems a tad unfair that a handsome, blue-eyed stegosaurus is right there at the meeting. What smartass allowed THAT to happen?

We discover that John has a top secret government job in a laboratory (where the sexy dinosaurs think he’s a prude :( ).

The attraction between John and the stegosaurus, Yorb, is apparently mutual–well, why wouldn’t it be?! Yorb asks John out for dinner but John remains strong and resists. He closes the chapter afraid to go home alone, with no billionaire dinosaur asses to pound.

    Poor John.

Oh my god he works at Buttcorp. I can't even...

by the way, is there really a market for this with gay people? I'm gay but... um. no. and when did beastiality become so un-taboo that you can write a book about that actually gets published?

    It's self-published, unsurprisingly. :D

I'm fairly sure the only people downloading it are ones who want a laugh. And by "I'm fairly sure" I mean "I hope or all faith in humanity is lost."

Still, it's proving that old Rule 34 isn't it?

    Dude!
    You don't even...

There are books about how man was raped by a dinosaur.
Man falls in love with his own butt and has it fuck him (God know's how)
There are planes, and toasters, and all sorts of weird shit.

I always wanted to read them just cause I am so curious at how serious the book actually is.

    It's an interesting genre.
Way more than the popular werewolf m/m trend going on.

The all inclusive cup one really speaks to me as a reader. lol.

Apparently there is a lady who has done fairly well with dinosaur/human woman erotic fiction.

    I can't even...there are no words. :superlaugh::superlaugh::superlaugh:

Wow! How do you find something this bizarre? I feel that after reading the reviews on amazon, that this guy is a genius in something strange.

Just when you thought things couldn't get any stranger, they go from zero to WTF in 1.5sec. What will the interwebz produce next in the land of WTF is this and how do you even come up with it? Things just went all the random directions. :superlaugh::superlaugh::superlaugh:

Is Yorb a common stegosaurus name, I wonder?

"My Immortal" is hideously badly written. But this is I think is intentional.

I've seen way too much incest stuff hanging around for this to faze me. After all, the dinosaurs are anthropomorphised both mentally and physically so really it's just furry stuff when it comes to them. The helicopter bit is clearly absurd though.

I think I'm more disturbed by the fact that I saw something about this book on an entirely different corner of the web. Why am I being followed by homosexual dinosaurs?

I don't think there's anything common about Yorb. He's THAT handsome.

I'm expecting him to confess an addiction to sex with helicopters in an upcoming chapter.

Unfortunately the next installment isn't until Monday, as tempted as I am to read this all to myself.

Q: But I'm not gay, I'm scared of helicopters and I don't speak dinosaur. Why would I read this book?
A: What about billionaires? Are you a billionaire?
Q: No... But I'd like to be some day.
A: Close enough! You'll love this book!

I think I'm going to make my next book be a dark fantasy about a boy who finds out he's a wizard after the zombie apocalypse comes and wipes out most of humanity. Then after the zombies finally die off the world is overrun by dinosaurs that were being kept on a secret island near North Korea. The doctor who brought the dinosaurs back in an attempt to allow Kim Jong-Un to take over the world spent most of his free time dressed as Barney and going to Furry meetings.

Oh ... and someone is a lesbian.

    Lesbian vampire.
