    either and too

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by dillseed, May 7, 2014.

    I'm not going, either.

I'm going to the mall, too!

Can we jettison the comma before 'either' and 'too'?

    And:

I, too, am offended by her comments.
Can I leave out the commas (before and after 'too')?

I sometimes leave out the commas in this case because I feel like they just get in the way.

If we're being all proper about it, the commas are required, but I hope this rule changes soon.
